Words or phrases often evoke a feeling or mood. Sometimes life just gets so complicated and busy…cell phones ringing, TV’s blaring…you get the picture. Life is hectic. So with that said…I made this wall hanging with the one of the oldest and simplest phrases…”Home Sweet Home“. The phrase makes me feel warm and cozy…and even when kids are fighting, cat’s are meowing and the laundry is piled up…my Home is still my very own…Home Sweet Home.

I used the Birds Nest paper as my background (Love birds and adore red!)…and then recycled the outer part of the Spring Fling Shapes diecut. I cut out the part that would normally go straight in the trash and used it to outline my picture. I used a scrap of Green Lace paper from Spring Fling for the roof of the house…and a piece of the scalloped border from the Spring Fling diecut to make the house look super cute. After I painted my frame…it was just missing something…so I used the scalloped border (again) from the Spring Fling diecut sheets and made a border around the frame…it broke up the harsh black and added that little extra something to the project.

Thanks so much for looking at my Wednesday’s Words project!!
~~~~I just wanted to add that I donated this piece to a very special auction put on by Candice McLean. http://www.candicemclean.typepad.com/ It benefits a fellow military family who lost their special Marine to Cancer. GySgt Troy Pierce USMC, left behind a wife and 2 children. I was happy to be able to donate a signed piece of work. Anything for a family that is facing this kind of loss, but this is even closer to my heart because it is a military family. My husband is in the US Navy. So from a Navy wife to a Marine wife…wish I could do more. Good Luck Candice and everybody check it out if you have a chance!!
