More Vintage Love

Good Day!  Davinie here.

I have played with the Fashion Pop Collection a little bit, so for today’s post I thought I’d get out some Halloween costume pics and Vintage Moon.  I just love how versatile this line is.  You can use it for Halloween photos, but you don’t have to.

I used both the 12×12 Collection Pack and the 8×8 paper pad for this one.  I liked the idea of creating a moon of sorts, so I trimmed a great big yellow circle out of the Night Owl paper.  I saved the owl for future use.  I then trimmed the owl and his tree branch from the 8×8 paper pad.  I wanted him a little bit smaller than his 12×12 version, because I printed my photo a bit smaller than a 4×6 and I didn’t want him to overpower the layout.

I chose the pinked topsider border, so I used my pinked deco scissors to trim black cardstock around my moon shape.  I put the coordinating sticker on my topsider, layered a rubon on top of it, which went down like butter, I have to say, and then I trimmed it to layer around the circle shape.

I had fun making the title of this layout too.  I used the blue Fashion Script alphas and the black alpha rubons to fit in all the wording for my title, and layered that all on top of a journaling block topsider.

I repositioned my letters a lot to get them centered…..  the adhesive is better on this new font and I went back and was able to adhere these down better….  after I took the photo, lol.

Of course, I have to stitch on everything I create, so after I was finished with the overall design, I took a handy blue Fiesta serving plate and traced out a circle for my stitching.

I was inspired by some of the new stamped images in the Vintage Moon Collection, and did my journaling a little bit different.  I didn’t think this layout needed a lot of journaling, so I simply wrote the same thing over and over again above the stitched circle to act as another design element.  Morgan and Payton and the Pumpkin Patch.  October 2007.

I then topped it off with a few pieces of bling from Kaiser Kraft.

Thanks for taking a peek!  I hope you get a chance to play with this fun and versatile new line.  Have a great Thursday.

Fall Girls – Vintage Moon Love

Hello, there!

It’s Michelle here with a little “Vintage Moon” love….(Isn’t this collection just to die for?? I can’t stop using it!!). I have a page to share today of my sister and I when we were little; I made it using the Vintage Moon Rub-ons, Topsiders, Fashion Script Alphabet, Patterned Paper, and I based it all on a Clear Scraps 12 x 12 acrylic page. I layered a few topsiders and some patterned paper pieces underneath the clear page, and then added rub-ons and layers of goodies on the top, too – I love the depth it created!

The Topsiders were longer than the fancy-edged acrylic base, so I adhered them where I could in the center underneath, flipped the project over, and used a craft knife to cut off any access chipboard – it worked like a charm! I painted the edges with black acrylic paint and a flat paintbrush, and added some splatters and some vintage goodies for the finishing touch! I just love how well the fab color combo of the collection looks with warm colored photos and vintage bits! Here it is:
