vintage moon…it’s not just for Halloween anymore!!

I love this line.
It is honestly my favorite release from Pink Paislee.
Really…my FAVORITE.

And I know that many scrappers often shy away from product that they make think is ‘seasonal’…wanting to get the most bang for their buck by being able to use the products they have in different ways. (I feel the same way, lol!!) So I wanted to take a minute to show you that Vintage Moon is NOT your ordinary ‘Halloween/Autumn’ line…

I LOVE this transparent ‘Paislee Page’ designed for the Vintage Moon collection…the faded newsprint around the edges, the old black photo frame and pieces of paper tucked underneath it are right up my alley. All I did was lay it on top of a sheet of Full Moon paper and I had my base. The flowers are hand-cut from the 8×8 piece of Moon Pie paper that comes in the 8×8 paper pads…the scale on the paper pads is just a tad bit smaller, and it worked better here. And being that I have never met a striped paper I didn’t love, I had to add a touch of the scalloped edge MoonRakers paper along the edge. (that’s the great thing about striped paper…a little bit of it goes a long way!!)

The silver alphabet rub-ons were begging to be used on the black frame, and I think they really stand out that way. A bit of stitching for ‘stems’, a touch of paint on the edges of my journaling strips to help them stand out and I was just about done. (Of course, I had to add that row of numbers…it’s my favorite stamp from the Vintage Moon set!!)

See, that’s the beauty of these transparent Paislee Pages…they are so detailed that they make it seem like you spent hours on the base of your pages!!

For this next page, I cut one of the Vintage Moon TopSiders in half, and used it along the edge of my photos. Added a bit of bling to the tips…and of course a tidbit of that stripe again, lol…and used the black Hollow Moon ledger paper as my base. i LOVE this black ledger paper…a nice twist on an old standby of mine. I cut one of the rub-ons in half before adding it to the bottom of the page and then used a few more gems to ‘frame’ the month of June. These silver rub-ons work so well against black…it really makes them stand out and you can appreciate the metallic look of them when used this way.

So there you have it…2 pages using a ‘Halloween/Autumn’ product line, and neither of them with a seasonal theme. In fact, these are both ‘summer’ pages if you were to take the photos into account, lol!! So don’t ever feel like you have to stick with what is ‘expected’ from your stash…thinking outside the box is always a good thing, and it often stretches your supplies as well!!
