Happy Halloween everyone! I feel like the phrase Trick or Treat is appropriate for today’s post. 
First, the trick part. And it wasn’t meant to be a trick, but once I show you the sketch I picked to use for Friday’s Sketch blog post today and the layout that I made…you might think I was trying to trick you! Does this ever happen to you? You start off with one idea in your head and then while you are scrapping it sort of evolves and the end result looks nothing like you first pictured in your head? That’s what happened yesterday after I start working with this sketch from Card Positioning System blog. I wondered if I should even post it today…since it looks nothing like the sketch. But the inspiration for it DID actually come from the sketch first….so I decided it’d be okay. I hope! Here’s the sketch….
I liked the block background and planned on doing blocks of patterned paper with the same colored letter stickers on the blocks to give a tone on tone effect. But then I didn’t like that so much…it was too distracting to the photo…so I got rid of the blocks and ended up doing the white letters on the white background instead.
I know…it doesn’t even have any blocks now! But the initial inspiration was there. I used some of the new Sweet Cakes patterned paper along with the Fashion Script white alphas, some Vintage Moon Press Ons, and the star TopSider that I covered with Sweet Cakes paper.
Now for the treat part. Since it IS Halloween today, I thought I’d share a little Halloween mini album that I made for a class at my LSS. All papers and embellishments are Pink Paislee. I added in some fun Halloween themed fabrics too. The inside pages are mostly Topsiders.

I love the layout. I often start with a sketch and gradually transform the layout enough that you would never know that the sketch was the inspiration. I’m glad to know someone else does it too!
