Monday Muse – Pop-Pop-Pop!

Good Monday to y’all! Hope everyone is having a great start to their week.

I have created a layout for today’s muse using the new Sweet Cakes papers!  When I started this page I began to realize that I have taken to one of the latest trends. The trend where you don’t end up with flat pages, but bulky pages. I love them! I love the look and the texture it brings to the overall layout. I have been doing this with my pages for a while but it really stood out to me while creating this piece. So what I wanted to do was share some of my techniques in doing this and of course if you have any tips or tricks you do to make things POP POP POP off of your pages please post them in the comments, I’d LOVE to hear them and try some new tricks.

So here’s are some of my most common uses for POPPING as I like to call it… I usually have a big fat roll of the 3M Double Sided Foam Tape. You can find this stuff at Target or Walmart. I LOVE it. And I probably use it on every page. Mostly I use it on my pictures and paper and for added POP I stack the tape on top of each other. For other things I like to use is my hot glue gun. This works well for stickers or alphas. All I do is squeeze a bit out and then blow on it a few second and then press it down on my page. This helps the glue to dry a bit and won’t squish out all over the page, but instead gives it a POP. And for things like chipboard shapes or things I cut out of paper I get out my cardstock and cut out a small rectangle and then glue the two ends together so it forms a circle and then use glue dots to adhere it to my shape and another glue dot to adhere it to my page. A little effort and a big payoff! I love things to POP off of my pages!
