Download A FREE Pink Paislee Holiday Card Template

Holly has done it again!  She has created a super fabulous and totally adorable holiday card template just for our blog readers!  Use this digital template to create quick photo cards for the holidays!  Once you drop your photo into this template you can upload it to any photo printing service and print as many as you need!  This template is 5×7 so you will want to order 5×7 prints.

Here are some examples of how it can be used:

Template Directions:

CLICK HERE to download the card template. When the pop up box appears hit save and save the download in your specific file area.  You will need to have some sort of “layers” editing program to use this template; it is a .psd file which stands for Photoshop document.  Any version of Photoshop Elements or Photoshop will work.  Open your template and drag your photo onto this card template.  Adjust your photo size and make sure the photo layer is behind the background layer.  Then you can click on the text layers and personalize as needed!  Holly is using the Perpetua font on her example but you can change the text font to whatever suits your style!  Once you are done just flatten your image and save as a .jpeg before uploading to your photo printing service.

Don’t forget to purchase your 5×7 envelopes to match!  I think I am going to buy cream envelopes for mine :-)

Have fun and send some “card” cheer from Pink Paislee!

Thursday’s Trends

Hi! This is Anabelle. I’m here to share a couple of projects I made using an embellishment I’ve been seeing a lot of lately…folded flowers. They are a wonderful addition to any project and are pretty easy to make.

First, you need to cut a 12 inch strip of paper. The wider you make it, the larger your flowers will be. Next, score the strip at ¼ inch intervals.

Once that is done, fan fold the strip. Add a glue dot at the end. Now comes the tricky part. Lay the folded strip on a work space near a heated glue gun. Using two hands, fan fold the strip to form a circle. Adhere it closed with the glue dot. Add a dot of hot glue onto the front center of the flower while you carefully keep it in the circular shape with your hands. (This is the tricky part, but once you try it a couple of times, it gets easier.) Once this is cool, turn it over and add another bit of glue to the back.

Here is a card that I created using the Sweet Cakes line.

I added glue to the edge of the flowers.

Here is another project I made. I used Tinsel Town on this one. I created larger flowers and layered them over snowflakes that I covered with glitter.

So, that’s it! Have fun creating your own flowers. You can add them to cards, frames, gift packaging, tags and even layouts. They are especially lovely on holiday projects.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Believe in the Magic

Hi, Danielle here. The cold air is upon us here in N.Y. and it’s certainly feeling like Christmas is nearing soon, which puts me in the mood to grab a hot drink and create for the holidays! The project I created for today is a frame made with the Tinsel Town line. I found a big letter C and some wooden stars at the craft store and knew I wanted to use them on an altered project. So I grabbed this old frame out of my stash and decided to create everything on top of the glass.

I distressed the background papers and stitched around them a bit and then adhered to the top of the glass, covered the large letter C with more of the Tinsel Town paper and placed the C in the middle. The photo was caught last Christmas Day of my girls….a totally impromptu picture of Taylor giving her little sister a kiss! Kati had gotten into the chocolate from her stocking, thus the messy face! But it is a precious photo to me, a moment I always want to remember.

I used the Tinsel Town ribbon, looped it a few times and stitched it together in the middle to create a bow. The “do not open until Christmas” was stamped and then coconut glitter from the Pixie Stix was added over the top. I just ran a tape runner over it and then sprinkled the glitter on.

A postcard from the Tinsel Town postcards is tucked under the photo for some added color and a bird rub on applied near the title. I used a Y upside down, because I was all out of H’s from the Fashion Script letter stickers.

Lastly, some lace was adhered around the frame to give it a cozy, vintage feel. Thank you for stopping by the Pink Paislee blog today!

It’s Sketch Time…Perfect for the Weekend!

Happy Friday to YOU!!!

This week’s sketch comes straight to you from the Pagemaps website.  I have always admired Becky Fleck, and her talent for producing amazing sketches.

After much deliberation I finally settled on a 12 x 12 sketch from the September 2008 Pagemaps.

The one thing I love about sketches is how versatile they are.  You can rotate them, change elements, mix things around, and basically make them your own while being inspired at the same time.

Here is the original sketch:

I decided to flip it as my photos did not go the same direction as the sketch:

I kept some of the design the same; the title block being in a circle, the wavy cut to the paper, and the two flower embellishments at the top.

I used the Tinsel Town collection for this layout, including the papers, rub-ons, stamps, and ribbons, along with the black Fashion Script alphabet.

I stamped the tree, cut it out, added Green Apple Pixee Stix glitter, and raised it on pop dots.  I also stamped “family traditions.”  To get the border of ivory velvet ribbon with  lace trim I simply cut the ribbon from the Tinsel Town ribbon set in half and glued it down.

With the weekend right around the corner, it would be the perfect time to print out this sketch, grab your PInk Paislee supplies, and start creating =)

If you get something whipped out we’d love to see it!  Simply add a link in the comment section.

Have a great weekend!
