Hi! This is Anabelle. I’m here to share a couple of projects I made using an embellishment I’ve been seeing a lot of lately…folded flowers. They are a wonderful addition to any project and are pretty easy to make.
First, you need to cut a 12 inch strip of paper. The wider you make it, the larger your flowers will be. Next, score the strip at ¼ inch intervals.
Once that is done, fan fold the strip. Add a glue dot at the end. Now comes the tricky part. Lay the folded strip on a work space near a heated glue gun. Using two hands, fan fold the strip to form a circle. Adhere it closed with the glue dot. Add a dot of hot glue onto the front center of the flower while you carefully keep it in the circular shape with your hands. (This is the tricky part, but once you try it a couple of times, it gets easier.) Once this is cool, turn it over and add another bit of glue to the back.
Here is a card that I created using the Sweet Cakes line.
I added glue to the edge of the flowers.
Here is another project I made. I used Tinsel Town on this one. I created larger flowers and layered them over snowflakes that I covered with glitter.
So, that’s it! Have fun creating your own flowers. You can add them to cards, frames, gift packaging, tags and even layouts. They are especially lovely on holiday projects.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
