On the 12th Day of Christmas

I give to you a “Go Green” project!
When I first received my box of Pink goodies with the new Tinsel Town I was of course smitten, but when I laid eyes on the ribbon I about fell over… The scalloped card they come on had me squealing. I was so excited I knew I was going to use it in a project. And well with it being Christmas so soon I figured I’d make an ornament out of it.

So here’s what I did…
I took off all of the ribbons and then used a small square of sandpaper to gently sand the “shiny” off the card to make the paint adhere a bit better. After the first coat of paint has dried I applied a second coat and before it dried I quickly covered it in glitter. I let it sit for about 15 minutes making sure all the paint and glitter was dry before decorating it. It turned out just as lovely as I had envisioned! I can’t wait to start on the next ribbon card from the Sweet Cakes line. HeeHeeHee Maybe this time I’ll use it as a base for a card. FUN.

I hope you’ve all enjoyed the 12 days of Christmas here at the Pink Paislee Blog. I’m sure with all these gorgeous creations you’ve all been making ornament up a storm. We’d love to see them! If you haven’t yet make sure you upload them into the Pink Paislee gallery over at Live Pink.
I wish you all a very Blessed and Merry Christmas!

On The 11th Day Of Christmas…..

For this ornament I covered a large snowflake with the Jack Frost paper from the Tinsel Town collection and machine stitched a bit down each arm of the snowflake.  Then I added some Pixee Stix glitter in Coconut around the edges to create a look of “snow.”  Then I wrapped some of the ribbon from the Tinsel Town ribbon set around the snowflake; adhering the ends on the back.  I cut the Merry Christmas out of the Tinsel Town Postcards and adhered that to the snowflake.  Finally I applied some of the Tinsel Town press ons (the snowflake and the swirl) to a transparency and then attached that to the ornament.

Don’t forget to come back tomorrow to see how Mara-May transformed the Tinsel Town ribbon card into a fun and fashionable ornament for the tree!

On the 10th Day of Christmas

Hi, this is Linda with more Pink Paislee ornaments to share.  Wow, is this the most talented design team or what?!!  It’s been nine days of pink Christmas joy… I can hardly wait to see what the last 2 days bring.

My first ornament was made from a wood stocking shape that I purchased at my local craft store.  I covered it with the Tinsel Town “34th Street” paper that I glued on at an angle then I added the green “A Christmas Carol” paper to the heel and toe after I handstitched a little on them.  The “Silver Bells” paper was added to the top and outlined with a silver pipecleaner.  Then it wouldn’t be complete without some “Silver Berry” Pixee Stix glitter on a few of the stripes.

My second ornament is a little holiday house that is covered in the same papers as the stocking except I added “5th Avenue” to the chimney.  Little bottle brush trees adorn the door way and a Pink Paislee snowflake Press On is above the door.  Then I sprinkled lots of “Silver Berry” glitter on the trees and white “Coconut” all over the entire piece for extra sparkle.

I created one final ornament because, well, a girl can never have too much pink in her life. :-)
I’ve been seeing lots of pink Christmas trees this year–even pink garlands, so I figured that it was time for a pink Snowman… I mean Snow GIRL!!!  Actually she sort of ended up being a princess because she is decked out with a “Silver Bells” paper crown and wings.

She is made from 3 sizes of styrofoam balls which are coated in lots of “Cotton Candy” Pixee Stix glitter.  Yummm!!  I strung a silver pipecleaner trhough the balls to connect them and it also forms the hook for hanging her on the tree.  She holds a little “Winter Wonderland” sign that I made with a Press On, paper, and a pipecleaner.  I also added some white feathers and pink gems and her crooked smile sort of says, ’ I know I’m different, but aren’t I cute?!! ‘

Have a very merry kind of day!
