Mini Album Class Kit (Limited Quantities Available)

One of the questions we got asked over and over during the CHA Show last week was “Are you doing your fabulous make and takes during the show?”

Unfortunately we had to say “no” because our Education Director (Jill Baldwin) wasn’t able to attend the CHA Show this time around.  It was pretty obvious everyone missed them too!

The good news is……Jill just designed a mini album using our Sweet Cakes collection for a St. Louis event and I just learned there are some left over kits still available.  So…..we have decided to release them to our blog readers :-)

For those of you who purchased our make and takes on the blog last year you know how much detail and product goes into one of Jill’s projects!  (That is why the make and take table is a popular hot spot in the booth at every show.)

This Sweet Cakes album kit has a ton of product and can be used to create the perfect mini album for your loved ones!  To purchase the project kit you can go directly to her blog and click the PayPal button to order.  They are already put together and can ship ASAP!

Here are some peeks of the project.  To Purchase yours just visit Jill’s Blog HERE

I know there are limited quantities of this album available so don’t wait!  You can get this in time for Valentine’s Day if you want to put it together as a special gift album!

Hello From The Show!

We are here in Anaheim, CA at the Craft & Hobby show introducing our new collections to buyers all across the world.  We are currently working on video footage to share with you but until we get that finished – here are a few photos from the show floor!

I do have to say this has been the strangest CHA Show I have ever been too!  Paris Hilton made an appearance and caused quite a ruckus; then my husband took photos with the Storm Trooper characters (not even sure where they came from) and this morning everyone was forced to evacuate the entire trade show floor (and the building) due to the fire alarms going off.  BIzarre!!!!!!!!!

So keep leaving us comments on the giveaways below and we will announce some winners later this week!

Pretty In Pink {From Our Fans}

I spotted this layout over in the Live Pink gallery today and I just couldn’t stop staring at all the details!  This one was uploaded to the community gallery by Kristii. She also has an adorable little cupcake album over there too.  All of her recent projects were created with the Sweet Cakes collection that she received in the January kit from Color Me Daisy.

Thanks for sharing this fabulous design with us Kristii!

Pop Fashion Really Is Fashionable {wearable too}

I’ve been thinking about dabbling in jewelry making lately. The other night I remembered a project that my third graders made when I was teaching: beaded necklaces made with paper! We actually used old wallpaper samples (from wallpaper books that stores give away for free when they are done with them) and created beads out of the paper. They turned them into necklaces and sold them to raise money for the school.

Let me show you how to create these beads from paper to make your own unique jewelry!

First, you will need to decide which patterned paper you’d like to use. Here I chose the Pop Fashion Hip Huggers paper, because I love the elegant feel to it. Depending on the size you want the beads to turn out, you can cut your strips 12” for thicker beads or 6” for skinnier beads. The strips should be about ½ inch wide, but make sure all your strips are the same size to create beads that are similar.

Next, I put a small spot of glue from my tape runner on one end. I used a skinny end of a paintbrush and began wrapping the paper strip around the brush. When you are almost to the end, slide the paper bead off the brush and add a bit of Mod Podge to the inside end of the paper. Finish wrapping the end around and hold it the end down for a few seconds. The Mod Podge will adhere and dry quickly. I used a matte finish Mod Podge, but you can also purchase a glossy finish. Paint the Mod Podge all the way around the bead to put a protective coating on it. Let dry. (only takes a few minutes to dry)

To create the necklace, I purchased this pre-made necklace from AC Moore for about $2. I cut one of the loops out of the necklace with wire cutters and added the bead in with a small piece of wire. The bracelet is also made with wire, but you could use elastic or a chain if you wanted to and add clasps to the ends. The large black button has a Pop Fashion Paislee Press On in Metallic Silver applied to it and was covered with Mod Podge to seal it.

With these beads you can create many other things as well, such as earrings, bookmarks, etc…unlimited possibilities!

Party Hat Prize Pack Winner! {Grand Prize Giveaway}

What a whirlwind day we had yesterday!  So many party favors were handed out and so many gorgeous party hats were uploaded to the Live Pink Gallery! I can’t wait to continue with our new community challenges every month after seeing all of the Party Hats in the gallery yesterday.  It is going to be a very inspiring year.  Just remember…we will post a new challenge every month on the 1st so check back on February 1st for the next monthly challenge.

Now………on to our Grand Prize Winner!

After looking through the gallery I was loving all the creative spins on the party hat concept.  From the cone styles, to the baseball styles, and the bucket hat styles it was hard to choose!  In fact it was so hard to choose a winner that I let my 6 year old son pick his favorite.  He is a part of the Pink Paislee family so it just seemed fitting to let him choose the party hat winner  :-)

Congratulations goes to momof3crazies for her vintage inspired party hat!  Love the shredded paper flower!

We will be sending you a HUGE box of goodies valued at over $100!!!!!!

Thanks so much to everyone who wished us a Happy Birthday.  I can’t wait until we turn 2!
