Loving My Clear Stamps

Hello all! It’s Lia here, and how is your Sunday coming along? It’s Stamping Sunday here at Pink Paislee, and I’ll be sharing some ideas to get you started on stamping up your Sunday.

Anyone who has fallen in love with clear stamps – especially the gorgeous Pink Paislee clear stamps – will know what an investment they can be, and like any investment you would want them to work hard for you! So here are a few tips to stretch your clear stamps, make them work for any of your layouts or projects, and make you fall in love with them all over again. :)

Idea #1: Instead of using the usual black or even oh-so-exciting brown inks on your clear stamps, try using your stash of colorful inks! For the layout below, I wanted the butterflies from the Pop Fashion clear stamps set to be in fresh and fun colors to go with the fun picture of my girlfriends and I. So I stamped the butterfly stamp with some turquoise and grapefruit colored inks, cut the images out, popped them up with some foam dots and ta-dah, instant colorful embellishments on my layout.

Here are a few closeup pictures.

Idea #2: To get that extra mileage from your clear stamps, try stamping on your patterned papers! The journaling spot for the word ‘Scraps’ in my title was created with a stamp from the Fancy Frames clear stamps set on the new Fascinating’s Eye Popping patterned paper! Again, an instant-matching embellishment for your layouts and projects.

So that’s it from me this rainy Sunday in Singapore. I hope you’ll have fun trying out the above ideas, and wishing you a great Stamping Sunday!

Friday’s Feelings

Today is “Feelings Friday”.  So, my focus is suppose to be on journaling, which is not one of my strong points.  However, one way I would like to give my journaling a jump start is to use a quote.  For this layout, I found a quote on “great-inspirational-quotes.com.”  The quote really captured the feeling I was trying to get across.  For that reason, I decided to make it the largest text on my layout.  My little girl, definitely thinks she’s a little princess.  She loves to wear her tiara on special days, like her birthday, or if we are just going on a trip to the grocery store!!! (LOL)

As you can see above, I mixed up the Chipboard Alphabets from the Enchanting and Captivating lines for a little interest.  I also used the Winsome Alphabet Stickers covered with some Orange Crush Pixee Stix glitter.  The rest of the quote was printed from the computer onto cardstock.

Since I really dislike my handwriting,  I typically will use my printer to print out my journaling.  That’s what I did here, I used a handwritten looking font, and printed it onto some of the Pleasant patterned paper.  I then cut it out and glued it to the round journaling sticker from the Enchanting Sticker Book.

Here are a few close ups of the rest of the layout:

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Wacky Wednesday with Melissa :)

Hello everyone!  I’m excited to join you all today with my very first Pink Paislee blog post.  Since it’s a Wednesday….I’ve planned a wacky little project for you and I hope you’ll enjoy it and try one for yourself.

I love using the packaging of items in my paper-crafting, so today, you’ll notice that I used the packaging from the Fascinating Sticker Book and altered it a bit to form a fun notebook that could be used for a weekly planner, a gratitude journal, or even as a card.

I cut the transparent cover to a smaller size as you can see here, stitched on a border sticker and attached a bright cardstock on the second page after stamping it with white butterflies from the Pop Fashion stamp set.  I also added another border sticker and Press-On from the Fascinating collection to the second page as well.  On the cover, I added a bit of bulk by adding a chipboard piece from the Fascinating collection embellished with blue posies.

I embellished the top of the packaging with a cardstock sticker, ribbon, and button.

I wanted to add a lot of layers, so I used, trim and border stickers at different levels to create interest.

To finish the inside, the remaining couple of pages were attached to the spiral binding and embellished with paper, stickers, and brads all from the Fascinating collection and more of the fun stamps included in the Pop Fashion stamp set

A fun and bright spot created just for happy notes about your day, or upcoming events to look forward to.

So much fun to create…hope you’ll give it a try!

Introducing…Leslie Ashe Our February Guest Artist

Hi!  I am Leslie Ashe and I live in Forth Worth, Texas with my handsome hubby Alan and our two super cute and sweet teenagers Savannah & Shayper.  I feel so lucky to be blessed with my family.  They are my biggest supporters & fans of what I do; not to mention my main subjects  :-)

I am totally addicted to scrapbooking.  I’ve been doing this for 12+ years.  It is not just a hobby to me – it is my passion.  I make the biggest mess when I’m scrapbooking – but that is what it is all about right???

When I’m not scrapping you can find me hanging out with my family, watching must see T.V. or curled up with a good book.

I have been very fortunate to have my work published in Scrapbook Trends, Paper Trends, & Cards.  To learn more about me or to see more of my designs feel free to swing by my blog at www.leslieashe.blogspot.com

Being a guest designer here at Pink Paislee is a DREAM come true!  I am ecstatic to be chosen and so very honored!  Thank you!  I had so much fun “digging in” to the new Fascinating Collection and creating with all this goodness!

Dreamy:

The scallop die cut paper is so cute! I had to make it stand out by punching holes in the scallops & layering on top of red cardstock.  I also used part of the die cut paper for my frame around my photograph.

To give the “dreamy” effect, I added the Pixie Sticks Blueberry glitter to the chipboard letters. It made them sparkly & dreamy.  I wanted my photograph to stand out so I made it 3d with pop dots. For a fun whimsical effect, I cut one of the stickers from the sticker book in half
and placed them behind the photo in 2 different places. Then I added press ons.

Serious Cuteness:

For this layout I wanted simplicity with a twist. To make my photograph stand out and be the first thing you see, I placed it directly in the center of my layout on top of the papers. Clustering like items together give this a fun feel. I added the flowers I cut from the papers along with the stickers.  I wanted the large flower to be my main embellishment. I added swavorsky crystals in the center.

Thank You Leslie!  Your work is truly inspiring!

Going Round!

Happy Monday!

Lately, I’ve noticed that people are using a ton of round elements in their pages.  From the shape of the page to embellishments and circle accents.  Here, I created a layout using mostly products from the Enchanting line, however I also incorporated a piece of patterned paper from the Captivating line.  The Enchanting line does include a gorgeous die cut shaped paper, however for this layout I wanted a round shape, like that included in the Captivating line, so I used a craft knife to cut the brown border from the die cut paper, “Stunning”, and then cut a circle from the woodgrain paper, “Adorable”, to fit inside the border, thus creating a round page with the pretty decorative edge that originally came on the Captivating paper, but with the pattern and colors I wanted to incorporate on my page.

I also added several other round elements to the page.  I cut a circle from the polka dot paper, “Delicious”, crinkled it and inked the edges, then attached crepe paper to the back, added a round chipboard button and a chipboard heart covered in Green Apple Pixee Glitter.  On the top right, I added a scallop punched circle, that I also crinkled and inked, tucked under a layer of patterned paper.  On top of that, a round sticker from the Sticker Book, a button and one of the green gemstone brads.  If you look closely, you’ll also see that I used the large round circle from the Sticker Book that peeks out from behind the photo.  I also tried incorporating even more circles that sort of tie the layout together.  There are the punched holes in the border strip across the bottom, the circles on the border strip above that, and even the circles on the whimsical chipboard piece in the center.

Have a great week and trying going round!!
