Thursday Trends from the Great White North!

Hi everyone! Today is Thursday Trends and also the first time for me to post on the Pink Paislee blog. I can’t tell you how much I agonized over this post because let’s be honest, I’m not a really trendy scrapper! However, I don’t live in the dark ages either and one trend that even I haven’t been able to miss is shaped paper. I love using shaped paper because it can add a lot of pizazz to even the most basic design. Luckily for me (and you!), Pink Paislee makes some of the BEST shaped papers out there! I absolutely love that there is a shaped paper in each of the Winsome mini-collections and that each of them is a different shape. How fun, eh?

One thing I love about shaped paper is its versatility….you can use the whole piece as the base for your layout, the whole piece on top of your background, or cut it up. For this layout, I chose to cut the top and bottom of the Enchanting shaped paper to create a frame for the main block of my layout.

The main block would be pretty plain without the beeeeautiful bracket shapes, don’t you think? I love that something as simple as adding those two pieces of paper completely transforms the layout!

I will spare you the detailed shots because you can probably see plain as day that there isn’t really any dimensional element to this layout (I am one of those weirdos who prefer flat layouts) but I will point out that I used the top of a chipboard flower as my letter “o” and applied a rub-on to it for added interest.

with that, I will end this post but before I go, I’m interested to know which shaped paper from the Winsome collection is your favourite and what are some of your favourite ways to use shaped paper.

Until next month,

Ann
