Saturday Sketch

Hi everyone I’m back, another month gone, it has passed so fast, but it is my time to show you another sketch, its just a little different and I hope that you will enjoy creating it.

And here is my example to the above sketch.

I used the Fascinating Collection:

Irresistable pattern paper, Spectacular pattern paper, Bewitching Matt, Eye Popping pattern paper, Sticker Book Borders, Chipboard Elements, brads, Chipboard Alphas and Pixie Stixs, which I just love.

I layered the beautiful red flower which you can see in the top photos and used the Black Pixie Stixs on the black print in the flower, and I also used a Facinating Brad for the centre of the flower,  and I love the Blueberry Pixie Stixs which I glued over the top of the Fascinating Chipboard Alphas.

I love the colours to this collection, very striking, and it went perfectly with my photo.  You can also see where I created a circle and punched tiny holes in the circle, this gave the circle the highlight I needed with the stitching.  I also cut out more of the pattern paper and wrapped the paper which formed a design around the right hand side of the photo, and added a little dimensional magic to finish off the layout.

Well that is for me, thankyou so much for looking.  Have a wonderful weekend.

All the very best.  Carole xx

Thursday Trends

Hi fellow paper lovers!

It’s hard to believe it’s been a month already since my last blog post…time flies! Today, I will be telling you about a trend that I blissfully ignored for a long time because it looked too time consuming (I’m a lazy scrapper, what can I say?). I’m talking about “fussy cutting”, ie, cutting patterns out of patterned paper. I’m actually really sorry I didn’t try it out earlier because it turned out to be one of my favourite techniques! Nowadays, I look for patterned papers with images that I can cut out. Luckily for me, Pink Paislee has a good variety of those :)

For this layout, I used papers and embellishments from the Captivating mini-line. I cut out the leaves and tiny blue flowers from the Beautiful paper (very fitting name, this paper is gorgeous) to embellish my layout. I prefer to have flat pages in my albums so fussy cutting allows me to add details to my layouts without adding extra bulk. I also cut the scallops from the Lovely paper to add to the right of my picture block.

Completely off topic but don’t you love that each mini-line comes with THREE alphas in different sizes/colours/fonts? I am completely addicted to all of them!

Do you like to cut images out of patterned paper? Share your creations on LivePink so we can ooohhh and aaaahh over your layouts!

Until next month!

Tasty Tuesday it is!

With Spring in the air….we thought a little celebration was in order & treated ourselves to a picnic tea in the garden. No tea party is complete without a plate of these delicious tasting petite-fours; they one of our family’s favourite sweet treats & come from a quaint little bakery down the road run by an elderly baker & his sweet wife.

This layout although not deep & meaningful, was a load of fun to put together…..I had a blast creating the layered paper flowers & pin wheel in a little flower pot,  using papers from the Fascinating line, Enchanting line, Captivating line, Office lingo and Spring fling.

The sweet little chipboard butterfly was given a touch of sparkle using Pixee Glitter with hand stitched little feelers in green to finish him off.  The title is a combination of alphas from the sticker books, Winsome alphas & Fashion Script Alphas and the rubons add cute finishing touches.

If you are keen to try & make one of these super easy pin wheels, head over to this link for the instructions.

Well that’s all for today folks! Remember to upload your projects into our gallery over at live pink . I am sure I speak for everyone when I say, it’s always amazing to be able to look at all your beautiful, creative projects daily.

Cheers until next month.
~Kim!
