Stamping Sundays! Add Some Color

Good Sunday morning!  Sundays here at the Pink Paislee blog are all about STAMPING!  And with the awesome array of Pink Paislee stamps out there, it’s easy to find something fun to do with stamps.  I am sort of a novice stamper…I don’t know all that much about it besides just inking and stamping.  And I get very nervous stamping directly on a project, so I usually stamp and cut out and THEN adhere to my pages.  :)   I also (being a novice stamper) don’t have a lot of colored inks…just black, brown, red, and a funky pink color.  So….I was thinking of some ways to add color to your stamping without having a huge variety of stamping inks, powders, etc.  Here are two easy ways to go from a plain black (or brown) stamped image to something more colorful, eye-catching, and coordinated for you page.

You can “color” your stamped image by stamping it onto different colors of cardstock or patterned paper.  To make the ice cream cone above, I just stamped the the image (from the Sweet Cakes clear stamp set)  twice….once on kraft cardstock and once on a scrap of pink patterned paper.  Then I just cut out the cone part of the kraft image and the ice cream part of the pink image, glued them together and…viola!  A strawberry ice cream cone!  :)

Or, just highlight one part of your image with some color like I did below with the bee stamp.

I stamped the bee onto my piece of white cardstock, then applied a heart shaped colored rubon (from the Sweet Cakes Press-ons pack) to the wings.

Easy, right?!  I used that first technique with the “lovey dovey” stamp as well, stamping it first on red paper, cutting out the heart part and glueing it down on the white before stamping over it again.  Here’s the whole page.

Paper, stamps, and rub-ons are all from the Sweet Cakes line and I used the Enchanting chipboard letters for the title.  Thanks for stopping by!
