Introducing….Kimberly Garofolo Our March Guest Artist

Hi!  My name is Kimberly and I am both honored and proud to be a Guest Designer for Pink Paislee. I am a Newlywed to Todd Neddo, the love of my life. I have 3 beautiful children, Noel, Foster and Olivia and 3 bonus (step) children Mike, Lexx and Charlie.

I’ve been scrapbooking for 12 years and enjoy the idea of passing on a legacy of history to feature generations to come. I’ve been honored to be published by Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbooks Etc, Memory Makers, Scrapbook Trends and Pine Cone press.

I have a passion to create art, whether it be with scrapbooking or photography and love the challenges they both give me on an ongoing basis. I am thankful for this opportunity to create and inspire using Pink Paislee products, and happy to do what ever I can to help this AWESOME company succeed in every way.

Thank you for taking the time to know me more. Blessings to you!

Saturday’s Sketch – Gettin’ sketchy!

Hello ladies! I’m back again this month with another Saturday Sketch! As I mentioned before, I don’t work from sketches very often. So, I spent some time this last month asking around to some of my fellow scrappin’ chicas what their favorite sketch sites were. PageMaps was mentioned the most often… I thought I should give it a look-see. I have to say, I was equally impressed with their sketches. This one, in particular, caught my eye…

Instantly, I knew it would be perfect for scrapping some photos from our trip to the apple orchards last fall! And, the Fascinating line worked brilliantly with the country-but-colorful look I was trying to achieve to tie in with the whole rustic atmosphere of the orchards.

The sketch even included the perfect spot to create a little apple tree of my own! For this little guy, I first snipped the button off one of the new Petals flowers. The button creates too much dimension, and you’ll want to remove it. I positioned the button-less flower on the page, and secured it with a small stitch to the middle where the button once was. Then, stick the chipboard tree trunk on top of the flower. For the apples, I cut the little red circles from the “Alluring” paper and added a little red glitter to them. Adhere them, using glue dots, randomly on the tree. For the final touch, take a small piece of green crocheted trim from the Tinsel Town collection, and glue it down at the base of the tree to create your “grass.” Now you’ve created your own apple tree embellishment!

Well, that’s it for me today! I hope you all enjoy your weekends, and find a little time to get creative!

Holly

Thursday’s Trends – Get More Out Of Your Sticker Books

Hi all! Who’s ready for the weekend? HaHaHa I know I am that’s for sure. I’t been a long week I tell ya. :)

Well here I am again with Thursdays Trends for my March post and I’m gonna show you how to get more from your new Pink Paislee Sticker Books. Stickers are pretty trendy in scrapbooking I’d say, in fact more of an essential, right? So how can you make your sticker book double? Lets have a look…

I put this layout together using Pink Paislee’s newest line Captivating. I love the soft hues of blue and yellow in this line and when placing my photo against it I knew it was a match fit for a groom.  I’m making an album for my brother and his wife of their wedding… and here is “The Groom” page. Take a close look here and you can see that I’ve used 4, count em, four stickers from my sticker book. Now here’s how to make them stretch… All you have to do to get double the sticker is cut that bad boy in half! That’s right cut em in half and now you have two stickers to use…

No point in layering over a sticker to hide it, simply place it on the paper you want turn it over and with a little snip snip you’ve got yourself another sticker to use! Aren’t you excited? Don’t you want to run to you scrap spot and start cutting up all your stickers? Well I won’t hold you any longer… Go be free to cut stickers! And have fun… Share your work with us if you give this a try, we’d love to see what you create!!! :)

Tasty Tuesday {Family Recipe Book}

I have always had a ‘thing’ for cook books.  I’ve collected many over the years and my collection is quite extensive.  I have some that are dated back to the 1920s and many that are current, such as Rachel Ray etc.  One type of cook book that I do not own is a collection from my own family.  We all love to cook, so I thought it would be a perfect idea to gather favorite recipes from each family member.

I took an acrylic tag album from Clear Scraps to make my book.  Each person in the family gets their own ‘hardbound’ page.  I can trace and cut out additional pages to add to each one as our favorites increase!

Here is the cover to the recipe book:

I kept the inside pages from being too busy since they are basically the ‘header’ for each family member.  I didn’t want to make the book too chunky so I could add lots of pages ;)

Taylor is the least picky of the three girls.  Gathering her recipes was super easy.

Hanna is really picky so imagine my joy when I found out that she loved Manicotti.

Chloe calls herself my “Little Chef.”  She likes to sit on the counter to help me cook…everyday!

Have a great week!!
