Can you believe it’s Sunday already? I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! Ours started really nicely with some beautiful weather but a storm came in unexpectedly last night and ruined our plans to go over to our community garden plot to get it ready for planting….oh well, there’s always next weekend!
Anyway, Sundays on the Pink Paislee blog are for stamping! A year ago, I would have panicked at the idea of creating a layout focusing on stamping. Stamping directly on a layout seemed too final for someone like me likes to move things around until everything feels just right. I finally started to stamp around the time I learned to use an x-acto knife (see my fussy cutting post from last month). For me, stamping fussy cutting go hand in hand and these days I still don’t stamp directly on my layouts. Instead, I prefer to cut out the image after stamping which allows me to move it around until I’m happy with the placement of all my elements
I used that technique in the layout below with some of my favorite Pink Paislee stamps: the butterflies from the Pop Fashion set and the frames from the Fancy Frames set.
To add some oomph to the large butterfly images, I used a glue pad to stamp and glittered the images with the Orange Crush Pixee Stix glitter. Below, I am breaking my own “no close-up rule” to show you the glittered butterflies
If you’re not a stamper, I hope you give it a try because stamps are so versatile and such a great addition to your toolbag. If you’re scared of making mistakes, do like I do and cut your images out! Once you learn this technique, It’s so easy to make custom embellishments for your layouts!
Until next month,
Ann
