Hi everyone! It feels like it’s been a while since I’ve posted here and I guess it has been a while since we skipped July to give you previews of the new CHA Summer 2009 lines. Anyway, Wednesdays on the Pink Paislee blog are all about doing unexpected things on our layouts. I chose to use something unexpected on my layout…the beautiful packaging that came with the Winsome collections!
I just love the subtle woodgrain pattern on this packaging as well as the delicate border pattern (the woodgrain is a bit hard to see on the layout but if you’ve bought the Winsome collection, you’ll know what I’m talking about). It was perfect to use as a photomat on this layout of my husband and kids feeding some chickens at a farm we visited this summer (I’m afraid of chickens so I was more than happy to hang back taking pictures, lol). Our family is trying to live greener these days and we are constantly finding ways to consume less by re-purposing things that would otherwise go into the recycling/garbage bin. I have saved every single piece of the packaging paper/cardboard from my scrapping supplies this year and I use a lot of it as scrap paper to test and clean stamps, etc. In this case, I’m really glad that some of this packaging found its way onto a layout
This layout uses my favourite collection from the summer release: Cupid! I usually prefer bright colours but for the subtle patterns and beautiful colour combo make this collection a must have for me!
Do you use packaging from scrapping supplies in creative/green ways? If so, please share it here in the comments section. I’m always looking for new ways to make the most of scrapping supplies, including the packaging

Hey Ann…Yay! I’m the first to comment! Using all the gingham papers together is such a cute idea! Great page design too!
So chickens creep you out you say……so tell us why??? Pleeease!!

I love gingham papers!!
This is my absolute favourite collection from PP so far!
When can we get our hands on these lovelies?
This is a gorgeous layout!! Love that gingham.
I am waiting not so patiently for this line. I want to use Cupid to do my album of my fundraising event , Crop for the Cure . I have to get 2009′s event scrapped before 2010′s date rolls around!!
Qué bonita!
Cool looking page and I love the idea! I’ll definitely be looking at my packaging in a brand new light!
This is an absolutely gorgeous page!
I love those colors together, I am like you I prefer bright colors(pink) but those colors really compliment each other!
This is just beautiful, Ann! Love it!
