Last July I was asked to design an album {cover} that will be used in a breast cancer auction and fund raising event. Of course I didn’t hesitate to say yes! This is a cause we feel very passionate about here at Pink Paislee and we will do whatever we can to support the ongoing research for new breast cancer treatments.
As you can see by the image below I am joining an amazing group of artists in this effort. Talk about pressure to create something amazing right??? Just look at the names on this list..I mean seriously I feel honored to represent Pink Paislee for this very special auction. Now….I don’t have all the details on the auction just yet but when I do I will update our blog readers with all the details!
I was given the Donna Downey Canvas Album to decorate and right away I knew I wanted to use our Pop Fashion Damask background press ons on top of the canvas. I was a little nervous to actually try it but I knew that our press ons were up to the task and away I went! I ended up using 6 sets of rub ons to create this all over print effect but it was worth it. Against the cream color of the canvas I couldn’t have asked for a better result.
After I had the press on background all over the front of the cover I decided that I didn’t want to cover it up so I decided to just keep it simple and create a focal point in the center of the album. I used the Sweet Cakes papers as my base and then added some flowers and a metal ornate frame from Tim Holtz.
The bottom line is that we don’t want you to be afraid to use our press ons on ANY SURFACE. And don’t be afraid to use then repeatedly to create an all over pattern!
oh my goodness, Rebecca! those rub ons are GORGEOUS against the canvas!! i hope you come out with more of these types of rub ons, they were certainly a fave of mine!
