Tonight is the night our family gets in our P.J’s, fills our mugs with hot cocoa (or coffee) and jumps in the car to drive around and look at christmas lights. We started this when Connor was little and have been doing it for the past 5 years or so. We crank up the holiday music, drink our cocoa and ooh and ahh and all the gorgeous decorations! We have some sentimental Filipino Christmas songs we love to sing, like “Pasko na, Sinta ko” which translates to “It’s Christmas, my love”.
And I have this favorite song that sounds like a Christmas song, a Filipino love song, that we sang in high school that always reminds me of Christmas. It’s called “Panalangin” which is “prayer.” And it basically talks about a prayer of a lover to end up with his/her love. =)

A favourite Christmas tune? Anything my daughter sings with her choir. If I had to pick just one…..Silent NIght. 
My favorite song is grandma got run over by a reindeer and I saw santa claus kissing mommy. I also love silent night and walking in the winter wonderland. It is a family tradition to sit around on Christmas eve and sing ukraniun Christmas carols and drink hot chocolate and drinks. We always have fun. My children never used to know the songs in Ukraniun but after listening to them for a few years they have caught on, Now just to work on the grandchildren lol. All Have A Merry Christmas!!

I start listening to Christmas songs the end of October and hate to put them away. Have two favorites which are Nat King Cole’s The Christmas Song and Mary, Did You Know which I have a recording of my son singing it on his HS Chamber Choir CD. He has such natural talent and I love to hear him this this song.

I love the The Little Drummer Boy…it reminds me so much of my childhood. When I was little, I took piano lessons. well, at Christmas, I so wanted to be able to play a Christmas song on the piano. And guess what? The only one I cold play was The Little Drummer Boy. I played it over and over and over again, again and again. I was so proud of myself. To this day, whenever I hear it, I laugh to myself. On a more serious not, I just love Silent Night.

We do that too! Except last year, we walked around the our and my parent’s neighborhood to look at the lights. Our downtown area goes all out so I might do that with the kid this year since it would be something they would enjoy. As for Christmas songs, my favorite is the Carpernters “Merry Christmas Darling”. My Mom was a big Carpernters fan so I grew up listening to it-in fact whenever I hear it, I sing along with it since I know the words! =)
