My Caffeinated Tasty Tuesday!

Hi everyone! It’s time for a Tasty Tuesday here at Pink Paislee!

BF and I love hanging out at Starbucks, and there is an outlet about 5minutes drive away from us where we particularly love spending time at. While other couples would make a trip to town for a day of shopping or movies, he and I would more often than not prefer to snuggle at the big couches at our favorite Starbucks along with our choice of java.

Our good friend took this picture of us with our Starbucks drinks recently, and I thought it’d be good fun to document our favorite drink/hangout on this Tasty Tuesday layout along with Pink Paislee’s Cupid collection of papers and embellishments!

For this layout, I used Cupid’s Bullseye, Hearts Bloom, Postcards and Love Potion patterned papers.

Other Cupid products used were the Cupid Press-ons, Punchouts and also the gorgeous Bella Brads! I couldn’t stop piling on the lovely stuff from this collections, they’re all so pretty!

My favorite Expressions alphabets and also the Green Apple Pixee Stix were used on the title of this layout. lovelovelove!

The Cupid collection began shipping out earlier this month, so I hope you’ve got your hands on some and began sharing your creations with us on Live Pink! Can’t wait to see them!

Thanks for taking a look, and Happy Holidays everyone!

A.Look – Manic Monday

So speaing of manic monday’s,  here’s the question of the day:  “are you finished shopping for the Holidays??”  I am almost there, just 2 more gifts and I am done!  Feels good :o )  I have hardly had any creative “me” time - life has just been so hectic, but thankfully I squeezed in a few private moments for my beloved Pink Paislee!  I created this layout using an awesome Becky Fleck sketch:

This is Addison’s “look.”  It’s that “are you still taking pictures of me??” look that I just adore.  She’s just a serious child and it comes across well in these photos lol!!!  I used the gorgeous Cupid line for this layout – I love this color combo, especially with these photos!

Ok…off to wrap up a few gifts and bake a few cookies :o )  Have a wonderful Holiday everyone!!

Stamping Sunday

Hello guys! Just a few more days left till Christmas!…. Are you ready? :)    I hope so. But, if you’re not quite there yet, here’s an inexpensive gift idea for you.   This little snow angel is a gift box that I altered to hold some snowflake shaped sugar cookies that the kids and I made. The nice thing about this type of box is that once the cookies are finished the recipient can keep the box as a Christmas decoration.

Here’s a before photo of the box, which was purchased from Hobby Lobby.  As you can see I removed the hat and added some wings.

I love the colors burgundy and green for Christmas, so I decided to mix a little of the Amber Road line with the Mistletoe & Co. on this.

Since it’s “Stamping Sunday” I pulled out my stamps for this project. The first stamping technique, is the pretty much the same one I used on my “Not so Scary” Halloween project. This time, I stamped out long  border strips, cut them out and then attached them to the edge of the jacket. To help the border curve around the jacket, I snipped the stamped border along the bottom edge before applying it.

The stars on the halo were stamped and then gold embossing power was applied to the images. I poured off the excess powder then used a heating gun to set the images. The stars were then cut out and adhered to the halo, a small piece of berry garland.

Here’s a picture of the box open.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, Everyone!!!

Creative Ideas: Using the Postcards Paper

I always try to get the most out of my supplies.  Doing so requires a little ‘out of the box’ thinking, which isn’t always an easy thing!

One of my favorite sheets of paper from the Pink Paislee line is the Postcards paper.  I often times use it for obvious reasons;  using one of the rectangles in my title, using a piece to write down my journaling, or just using the pattern on the opposite side to aid in my design.  Well I love it so much that I wanted to use nearly ALL of it to create a layout.  The Cupid Postcards paper, along with Cupids Bullseye paper, and Cupids Eternal Love, were the only 3 sheets of paper I used from the Cupid line.

Six sections from the Postcards paper, along with three (4 x 6) photos cut down to size, make up a good portion of the layout.  I made sure to use contrasting pieces from the paper;  Three “title” sections and three “journaling” sections.  To break up the title, I hand cut a flower from one of the sheets of paper and added it to the side of the title along with a Cupid Bella Brad for the flower center.  I combined the Cherry Expressions Glitter Alphabet chipboard, Berry Expressions Glitter Alphabet chipboard, and the Expression Whimsies Alphabet in Chocolate for my title.

The “love” stamp comes from the Cupid Impressions Stamps.  I’m always looking for a place or two to throw a stamp ;)

I would love to hear of interesting ways all of you use papers from the Pink Paislee lines!

Happy Creating!

Highlight your journaling – Friday Feelings

As I have told you all before, I am not a journaler.  So when I saw I had Friday Feelings for my blog topic this month, I really needed to sit down and think about what to do for my project.  I thought a fun way to put focus on my journaling would be through sewing.  This is one of my favorite techniques to use, and I just love the color and texture it can add to a project.

So, I went ahead and stamped out my journaling (since my journaling was fairly short, it didn’t take too long), and then I stitched under each line to highlight it.  I added a few zigzag stitches over the lines to add a little more visual interest.  If you tend to do more journaling than I do, the zigzag stitches would be great for highlighting specific words.

Then, I just added some fun accents from the Cupid and Expressions Alphabets collections and a few little extras to finish off my layout.

Pink Paislee products-  CupidBow and Arrow, Love Potion, Postcards, Punchouts ; Expressions AlphabetsBerry Blue, Limeade

Next time you are looking for a fun way to highlight your journaling, try adding a few stitches.  If you don’t machine sew, you can always try hand stitching, stamps, or doodling to get a similar effect.

Hope you all have a happy holiday!  Thanks so much for stopping by!
