Hello Everyone! Karola here, in my first post on the Pink Paislee blog, so I’m a little nervous, but most I am thrilled!
Today we have a Saturday Sketch theme on the blog, so I would like to show you which sketch I chose, and what I did with it. Can you believe it that I working with sketches since the beginning of this year!?
Previously I always creating layouts in recesses of my head from A to Z, but now playing with sketches gives me a lot of fun, especially as it gives a lot opportunities to interpretation and do not need to reproduce the sketch in every detail, but think creatively!
To create my Lo I took the sketch from Pencil Lines #106, by Anna Bowkis. I chose it because it contains elements which I like very much – layering and flourishes that can be interpreted in a few different ways – I have decided that they will be floral motifs.
Also I’ve used here my favorite techniques – layering and hand cutting details – The New Queen Bee collection is perfect for this – beautiful designs with floral motifs are perfect for cutouts and creating your own embellies! Yes, I know this is a hard work and time spent technique, but believe me, that the effect is worth it!
Because the Queen Bee is very elegant and has a delicate colors, I decided to add some girly accents – a little red from the Cupid line. To create another layer I’ve used Love Potion paper, and from Hearts Bloom I cut off the flowers and circles.
In addition to papers I’ve used the clear stamps Queen Bee – Impressions Clear Stamps, bees have been perfect here! Why? Because that Lo is inspired by the “My Girl” movie (1991), and the song performed by The Temptations – I love both the movie and the song, so the text typed in the form of journaling using the tag from the Queen Bee – Punch Outs Die Cut Tags. I tried to show how a wonderful gift for me is my daughter, with all her flowers (her charm and beauty) and the bees (her rebellious nature)!
Thank you for your attention and see you again soon!
