Tuesday Tips – Cookie Jar

One of my colleagues, Ariel, who is also known to us as the “Queen of snacks” has kept quite a bit of snacks all over her work station, in her drawers as well as her table top. We will always look up to her when we need something to munch during tea breaks. That’s the good thing of having her around! lol!

A while ago she jokingly asked me if I’m ever going to make something for her, as she has seen and liked my scrap work. And I’ve decided to give her a cookie jar for her to store some of her snacks. So, I altered one before giving it to her.

Here’s what I did to the cookie jar.

I cut out a piece of “Imagine” paper from 365 Degrees collection, making sure it is long enough to wrap around the cookie jar.

Next, I folded the paper into half (length-wise) and I cut it into strips starting from the folded side, leaving about 1cm at the edge of the paper uncut.

Once I’m done, I unfolded the paper and wrapped it around the jar and secure both ends with liquid glue. I slightly pushed the paper downwards so the strips opened up like shown in the picture below.

I embellished the jar with Ribbon Pleats strips, Bella Brads, Punch Out Die Cut Tags and cut out a small flourish from Dream Big paper to complete decorating the jar. All the products used are from 365 Degrees collection.

And here’s the jar that I altered for Ariel.

I really hope she likes this and if she does, I’ll altered a few more for her so she can store all her snacks into different jars, leave them in plain sight and we can just help ourselves to the snakcs when we’re hungry! :)

Thanks for popping by again and happy Tuesday!
