Thursday Trend ~ Shadow Box

Shadow box is something which has always been one of my favorite display items in my home. I recently got a shadow box from Ikea (the truth is, I bought a few! lol) and decided to put up my god daughter’s picture on it which I photographed recently.
Shadow is an evergreen product in every home and what better way to put it up using Pink Paislee’s products! :)
Here’s what I created using mixed products from Queen Bee, 365 Degrees and the Artisan collections all into one project.
To make the shadow box stands out, I used Daydream paper as the background, cut a small square in the middle and adhered the Worker Bee polka dots paper behind the Daydream paper. This actually created a contrast between the orange and dark colored papers.
Next, I inserted the background papers onto the shadow box, secured it properly and started working with the rest of the embellishments and papers.
I then trimmed off the edges of the Bee Hive die cut paper and created a patterned border over the squared small window (around the polka dots paper). Thereafter, I mat the black & white picture of Shayne (my god daughter) with Daydream paper and adhered it in the centre of the shadow box. I cut out a few of flower patterns from the Honey Bee paper and inserted them just beneath the picture. I added 365 Degrees red Bella Brad and stamped Queen Bee crown on the right side of the box.
On the left side of the box, I inserted more flower cutout from Honey Bee paper under the picture, layered some squares and scalloped circle Cork Buttons, more Bella Brads from Queen Bee, a letter ‘S’ (the initial of Shayne) from Expressions Weathered Wood Alpha (Scarlet) and some stamped bees.
I finished off embellishing the shadow box by adding 2 pieces of the swirls from Artisan Elements, each at the top and bottom of the picture. I also inserted half a piece of Queen Bee die cut tag, inserted beneath the swirl Artisan below the picture and added letter stickers on the tag.
And here’s a close up of the finished shadow box, with all the wonderful colors from the Queen Bee and 365 Degrees products encircling the picture.
I hope you like this shadow box and you can start making one for yourself and have them displayed in your home. It’s a great way to remind you of the little things in your life you love and appreciate most.
Hugs,
Leena
