Monochromatic Monday – Purple

Hello everyone!  Long time, no see.  It has been a while since I have done a blog post on the Pink Paislee blog, and I am glad to be back. 

Today is Monochromatic Monday, and I have a layout to share with you.  When deciding on a color for this project, I went back through some of the more recent Monday posts to see what colors everyone had previously chosen.  One color I didn’t see was purple.  I hear quite a lot of people say that they don’t like purple or they have a hard time using it in their projects, but I really love the color.  It is one of my favorites.  Plus, being the mother of two girls, you can find something that is purple in almost any room in my house.  LOL   I went through my Pink Paislee supplies and found purple in three collections:  Hocus Pocus, Bayberry Cottage, and Twilight.  And because purple pairs so well with gray, I snuck in some Parisian Anthology as my neutral.  Gorgeous stuff! 

I chose some photos of my daughter, Harper, with our dog, Phoenix.  Every time I look around, I find Harper with one of our dogs, petting, hugging, or giving them kisses.  She is such an affectionate kid. 

For the papers, I used Beautiful Butterfly for the background, Skeleton Soiree, Hocus Pocus, and Sunset for the different shades of purple, and Fancy Filigree and Architectural Arch for the neutral accents.  For the embellishments, I used one of the Flower Darlings, a Flip Notes journaling spot, a couple of Punchouts die-cuts, a Cork Button, a Bella Brad, and the Expressions Cushies Alphabet.     

I printed my journaling onto patterned paper with my computer and printer, and added some hand stitching details.  For the flower, I layered the brad, button, and cork button, and added a stitch and some adhesive to hold it in place.
