Thursday Trend: Vellum

Good morning! It’s getting closer and closer to Halloween here in the states, so I wanted to create a Halloween card to share with you using one of my favorite trends right now – vellum. Yes, vellum is making a come back! Here I’ve printed out my own saying onto a piece of vellum with my computer.

Here is how I make these titles in Photoshop:

1. Open a new document 8 1/2 x 11″. Make sure the resolution is set to 300 pixels per inch to get a nice clear image. Also set the background as “transparent”.

2. Next, click the TYPE tool. If you can’t see your tools, you need to go to Window and then Tools. Make sure there is a check mark next to tools. You should see the tool palette open up. Select the T.

3. On your document, hold your mouse and drag to open up a new box. Select the font you want and the size. I used “Edwardian” for the script font and “Times New Roman”. It’s fun to mix and match them! Type your saying. Click the check mark at the top right of your screen to accept. I changed the 12:00 to a gray color to mix it up a bit. You can add several of these text boxes and move them around to overlay each other as well, as I did with the 12:00….see how it overlaps the rest of the saying a little bit?

4. When finished, go to Layer, and Flatten Image. This will merge all of your text boxes that you have created and creates it as one image.  Save and print right onto a piece of vellum. Apply to your card with a vellum adhesive. Done!

Wednesdays Word – Heart

Hi all, Karola here with one, but very important and multiple meanings  word – HEART.
I will not write about human anatomy or of ailments, but today I’ll show what I created from the heart. Although it’s far from the Valentine’s Day, then I would like to encourage you to spread you love in the air! Everyday!
Heart most associated with love, it’s a fact, that’s why I used Sweetness – Faux Bois Mini Book to show my photos with my daughter – our sweet, tender moments, that are so important and so fleeting. Kisses, hugs, tender words whispered – all this can be found in my album.
The heart is here everywhere – the shape of an album, a small hearts cut out of Sweetness – Paper Heart paper, and a lot of heart and love in each of the photos.
Sweetnes collection has such a lot of… sweetness, beauty and feinine touch, but also lot of energy, thus fit for many occasions! I also used the Artisan elements here, because I can change the color, it matched the color of the entire album. Beautiful roses cut out from Sweetness – Sweetest Day sticking out here and there is an cute, cheap and light element. lightness.

Monochromatic Monday

Hello there!

It’s the time of the week when I dread most, Monday! lol! After spending a nice weekend with my family and doing what I always like to do (nap), it’s kind of hard to drag myself to work. It’s always the same thing every Monday morning, I’ll start sneezing, which leads to nose block, teary & puffy eyes and eventually, heavy headed. My hub says I’m allergic to work! lol! I think he’s right! ;)

So, just to cheer myself up and all of you as well, here’s my monochromatic page, with lots of reds! I think it’s fiery and liven things up a bit. It does help brighten up my day.

I picked up bits and pieces of red from a couple collections, mainly from the new summer collections, Sweetness and Old School.

I just love how these papers and embellishments compliment each other so well, even though they’re from 2 different collections.

Even down right to the alphabets, the glitter red blended so well with the rest.

And I hope you’ll be able to create fabulous monochromatic projects from the new & past collections, from papers to the embellishments. Pink Paislee’s designs are most versatile, which allows you to make the most gorgeous project to display them in your home or to be be made as gifts to your family and friends!

Have a great week ahead and Happy Monday!

FREE Hocus Pocus Mobile Phone Wallpapers

There are lots of things I love in life and celebrating Halloween is one of them.  I know there are lots of you who don’t recognize or celebrate this holiday but for me it has always been a highlight of the fall season.  I love the costumes, the chocolate (and oh yeah..don’t forget those halloween orange cream filled Oreas), the home decor and of course all the spooky stories.

So…today I decided to give away some FREE mobile phone device wallpapers that were created from our new Hocus Pocus collection! In the upcoming months you will see more and more digital goodies from us (watch the digi mall link above) but for now here are some freebies you can use to sport your love for our new collection and of course the fall season!

iphone users:  CLICK HERE for a tutorial on how to install these wallpapers on your iphone.  I also think you can just right click each image, save to your desktop and then email them to yourself.  When you check your email on your iphone you can then tap the image, save it and it will automatically save to your camera roll.  Then you can open it and save it as your wallpaper. (Thanks to the girls over at the HOUSE OF THREE for that quick and easy how to.)

I don’t have much experience with other mobile devices so hopefully everyone knows how to add new photos or wallpapers on their own phones!
