Good morning! It’s getting closer and closer to Halloween here in the states, so I wanted to create a Halloween card to share with you using one of my favorite trends right now – vellum. Yes, vellum is making a come back! Here I’ve printed out my own saying onto a piece of vellum with my computer.
Here is how I make these titles in Photoshop:
1. Open a new document 8 1/2 x 11″. Make sure the resolution is set to 300 pixels per inch to get a nice clear image. Also set the background as “transparent”.
2. Next, click the TYPE tool. If you can’t see your tools, you need to go to Window and then Tools. Make sure there is a check mark next to tools. You should see the tool palette open up. Select the T.
3. On your document, hold your mouse and drag to open up a new box. Select the font you want and the size. I used “Edwardian” for the script font and “Times New Roman”. It’s fun to mix and match them! Type your saying. Click the check mark at the top right of your screen to accept. I changed the 12:00 to a gray color to mix it up a bit. You can add several of these text boxes and move them around to overlay each other as well, as I did with the 12:00….see how it overlaps the rest of the saying a little bit?
4. When finished, go to Layer, and Flatten Image. This will merge all of your text boxes that you have created and creates it as one image. Save and print right onto a piece of vellum. Apply to your card with a vellum adhesive. Done!
