Sunday Sketch: Make it a Double

Happy Halloween everyone!  I am sure those of you who celebrate are planning to take lots of photos of the festivities. We host a casual family get-together where a large group of us have a big pot of stew and many laughs. It concludes with the kiddos getting dressed…seeing them in their costumes is sure to make everyone smile. In order to accommodate all my photos, I decided to create a double pager. It is a great way to showcase the many aspects of the day and to put Pink Paislee products to good use!

Many people struggle with double pagers, but they really aren’t that difficult…especially when you have a fabulous sketch to inspire you! The sketch that sparked my layout is by Becky Fleck over at PageMaps. Here it is:

It is actually meant to be used to do a double page with 8.5 X 11 papers, but I adapted it. Here is my take:

I like to have a common element run across both pages when I do doubles so I utilized the Spider’s Lair shaped paper to accomplish this.

I simply cut out the middle so just the frame remained. I then cut that frame into four sections. I used two of them along the bottom of my layout!

I used a Clear card and the very awesome glitter stickers to create the cobweb embellishment…it adds a bold touch to the layout! I created a visual triangle to lead the eye around the page, using glitter stickers in two additional spots. Did I mention how addicted I am to those glitter stickers?

Here are the rest of the products used:
1. Hocus Pocus Papers: Spider’s Lair, Haunting, Hocus Pocus, Witching Hour
2. Hocus Pocus Press-ons
3. Hocus Pocus Doodads
4. Hocus Pocus Clear Cards
5. Hocus Pocus Metal Badges
6. Hocus Pocus Glitter Sticker Elements
7. Alphabets: Expressions Cushies in Cocoa and the sticker alphabet from the Craft Kit

Be sure to put the sketch to good use and share your results with us over at Live Pink!
