I found these old photos of myself from junior year of high school (in 2002!) while rummaging through my old room at my parents’ house and thought of how much i’ve changed in the last 9 years. I decided to do a “note to past self” layout with these photos, with some tidbits I wish I knew at that age.
Here’s a close-up of the journaling:
I went with a list format for my journaling, making a list of 4 things I would tell my 16-year-old self. I love creating hand-drawn journaling lines on my layouts, but I wanted to switch it up a bit for this one, so I decided to created journaling lines by stitching with the twine from the Daily Junque line!
I used mostly Daily Junque stuff on this page, and most of my page is embellished with bits and pieces cut from the patterned paper. I was inspired by the ephemera going down the left side of the Tickets paper and created a similar look to the left side of my page. I added some fun rhinestones to the mix to add a bit of sparkle.
Try journaling to your past (or even future) self…it’s a fun way to journal!

the bakers twine as the lines is total genius!!
Oh CUTE! I love your journaling lines!
love this!
Awesome-and the journaling is just what I need to write down for my son.
What a clever technique! I love it!
I LOVE how you used the twine! Very creative.
Great idea to use the twine to underline the journal part of the LO! Love it!
