Todays Tutorial: Tissue Flowers

Hi Everyone!!!   It’s Piradee here today to share with you guys my tips and tricks for creating a super fun tissue paper flower – using the new Printed Sheets from Daily Junque.  Yeap, that’s right – part of the new Daily Junque Collection - there’s the coordinating printed sheets (tissue paper) that would be perfect for adding that little touch of texture to any project.

What you’ll need are… a few cut strips of the printed sheets (in various width), a few punched circles (to be used as the base of the flower) and liquid glue.

Then with the cut strips of the printed sheets, I crunched each of the strips into a little ball – to add a bit more texture to the tissue paper (and if you are up for it – you could also try applying some distress ink to bring out the crease even more).

Then I applied the liquid glue all around the punched circles before taking the strip of printed sheet and pleating it around the circle.

And once you have gone all around the circle, the finished flower would look something like this and then with the thinner strip, repeat the same process…

Once completed, I punched out the birdie image from the Daily Junque – Junque Pattern Paper and layered the two flowers on top of each other.  And just in case, the flowers are too big, you can always trim the edges afterwards too.

And then adding a few more details… here’s mine.

Also, don’t you just love these wood alphabets (also part of the Daily Junque Collection)?  They work super great with the matching Tattered Angles Glam or just as is.

And here’s another close up of the fun paper patterns from the Daily Junque Collection…

This is a great use of that beautiful tissue paper an if I could add another idea; when getting colored tissue paper in a gift bag and it is too wrinkle to reuse, why not make flowers out of it instead of tossing it!
