Product Pick: For the Love of Mistable Alphas

Hi everyone! I am back to tell you all about the Mistable Alphas. If you’ve seen any of my layouts, you must know that I have a love affair with alphabets. I tend to create super-long titles and love using them on my pages. One of the things I struggle with when I create my layouts is finding several alphas that match the colors of my photos or products.

In comes the Mistables Chipboard Alphabet. Now I can alter my alphas to match any color I want. The great thing about these alphabets is that they can be altered with many different mediums so you can use pretty much anything you have on hand. Here’s a few I tried with what I happened to have on my desk:

in this photo (from left to right) I’ve used liquid acrylic, pan pastels, watercolor pencils, copic markers, watercolors, and distress inks. You can also use normal markers, spray inks, oil pastels, watersoluble crayons. And each will have a slightly different look and texture.

Isn’t that awesome?

Here’s a layout I made using the same alphas. For this layout, I used two different distress inks to match the colors in my papers and my photos.

You can add more layers or just a light shade to change the value of the color on each letter. You can also rub the edges more so they are deeper and stand out more.

What’s even cooler is that you can mix colors on your letters too. You can see below that I added a bit of green to the blue letters in the word “father” to give it more depth and a more unified look.

The number of variations you can create with these letters is truly unlimited. I challenge you to push your imagination to its boundaries and try mixing colors, values, or even mediums. You will quickly become addicted to them like I have!

If you’ve experimented with your Mistables alphas, please share them with us in the Live Pink Gallery, I would love to see them!

Simple Treasures {Stories}

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a great day, well I was going through all my bits and pieces and found this very cute little Treasure Chest and I thought it would be wonderful to use for this blog post.

I really had fun creating this Beyond The Page for “Simple Stories” something which will make a special Keepsake.

I used the gorgeous Nantucket Collection to create this treasured piece.

Its so lovely to create special Trinket Boxes filled with memories of special photos and letters that you love and want to keep safe for a long time.

This photo of me and Chaise is one of my favorites, I really enjoyed adding all the little embellishments and a folded note which I placed inside this cute Treasure Chest, I also lined the inside of the Treasure Chest with the Mistables Fabric Pleated Strips.

I added shells and Nantucket Ephemera pieces and Lobster Bisque pattern paper to the outside of the Treasure Chest.

I hope you have as much fun as I did in creating your very own Treasure Chest or Trinket Box.

Warehouse Sale: Another Update

Hey everyone!  Guess what? 180 Warehouse Sale Boxes were shipped today! Which is totally awesome and if we keep on this pace we will be done by Thursday.

If you missed the update we posted on Facebook last week we are posting it again here for everyone to read.

Sometimes the marketing director (that’s me) doesn’t communicate with the operations director (that’s Barry) and we end up getting our signals crossed. (by the way, we are also married…so this happens alot!)

So….i didn’t know that the warehouse was backlogged with cha show shipments and he didn’t know I was going to make a public announcement stating that the ship date of the warehouse sale boxes would begin on 8.22..which according to Barry would be nearly impossible to obtain. (yikes)

Now everyone is working double duty in the office to catch up (and I am in serious trouble at this point!)

BUT the good news is… the warehouse sale boxes will START shipping on Monday the 29th!!! YAY!!

We are SO SORRY that we have not started shipping these goodies to you yet. We know you are anxious and we are too. This sale has been our biggest ever and there are lots and lots of orders to ship. We appreciate your enthusiasm more than we can tell you and we hope you know it will be worth the wait.

Next time we will not MESS UP!!!

Please contact us directly at [email protected] with any concerns or comments or if you would like us to cancel your order.

This warehouse sale comes at a time when we are swamped trying to wrap up CHA Show orders and assist all of our retail customers.  Unfortunately we did rush into the annual sale announcement since we knew so many of you were waiting for this annual event to happen.

I can promise you this…these boxes are packed full of product.  We only charged $9 more dollars for these boxes this year yet we doubled the retail value.  In the end the sheer number of orders combined with more individual picking and packing of each piece that is required for more items in a box is taking longer than we anticipated.

But…we are over the hurdle and now it is all about how fast we can type up shipping labels in UPS (since we are not shipping out of Paypal this time around.)

You SHOULD receive an email notification when your order ships but I just learned tonight that the UPS system might not have been working (UGHH) so tomorrow I will try to have someone send out individual emails to everyone so they will have their tracking numbers in their inbox!

Thanks again for your patience.  We do appreciate all of our fans more than we can even express in words!

Sincerely,

Rebecca

P.S.  This sale will end on Wednesday around 3:00 p.m. CST.  It will not be extended so order before Wednesday to reserve your box. CLICK HERE IF YOU WANT TO ORDER YOUR BOX

Get Sketchy – “Beach Bums”

Hi everyone! I have a fabulous sketch for you by PageMaps today!

Here is my take:

My version ended up taking a life of its own, but I was definitely inspired by the sketch! The one element I translated the most into my page is the half-circles on the top half of my page. Instead of using three large circles, however, I used a row of smaller, punched scalloped half-circles, and stuck a chipboard tile in the center of each one.

I also used a one-photo design, and used strips of paper underneath the row of circles. I went with the Nantucket line to go along with my summery photo!

Here, I had fun with the florals from the Clam Chowder paper and ephemera. I love all the summery motifs in the pack of ephemera, and I thought this was the perfect chance to use some of the beach-inspired images, like this seahorse here!

Hope you are inspired by the sketch to create your own summery page!

Product Pick – Nantucket Wood Shapes

Hi everyone! Thank you for stopping by Pink Paislee blog today! I have a little something to show you!

When I saw Nantucket Wood Shapes at first sight - I wondered how I will could to use them. This year we planned vacation at the sea, but unfortunately our plans have changed, the reasons for illness and too much work, and the terrible summer weather in Poland – believe it or not – but here it rains almost all the time! Anyway – I decided to do a mini album for upcoming photos, because I still believe on the fact that in September the weather can be improved enough so that we can truly enjoy a sunny seaside holidays. This album is empty so far, but it is completely prepared for the photos.

I combined Mistables and Nantucket collections, and one of the main decorations are Nantucket Wood Shapes:

Nantucket - Wood Shapes 00530

How beautiful and fun shapes, and how precisely they are cut! A truly delicate, looks like doilies – love it! The wooden shapes can decorate in various ways. We can use the stamps, heat embossig, paint them with acrylic paint, sprayed by Mists – some of these techniques I applied in my mini album.

And here are a few pages from my album:

As you can see – I added a little bit stamping on “explore” word…

Here i used glimmer mists to cover this shape, I combined Marigold and Burnt Red mists:
