Vintage Photo Frame

I love baby pictures and I love handmade things, so what better way to merge my two loves by creating a Vintage Vogue photo frame.  I started with the blank Mistables Wood Shadowbox Frame and a little bit of paint. I love how delicate the scrollwork is in this wood pattern. It’s already pretty smooth, so no need to sand.

I just smoothed out the edges and then applied a very thin coat of white acrylic paint. I wanted some of the wood to peek through so I did this with a very light hand. You can see the right side is ‘just’ barely painted, while the left is the unfinished wood.

I then used a makeup sponge to very lightly “age” the wood with dark brown ink. This matches Baby Daia’s vintage rose nursery perfectly.

I used the beautiful color palette in Vintage Vogue to decorate the inside of the frame with layers of patterned paper. I love the softness that the muslin fabric adds to the frame.

I repeated the matching floral pattern in the ribbon and initial, as well as the button border. Just adding matching chipboard flowers from the Vintage Vogue Chipboard Pops here and there adds a really great custom look.

This was such a quick and fun project to make!

    Hi Nancy,

I love love love the vintage frame box you used. Where did you get it? I have a canvas that I want to get a frame to put it in and this would be perfect. Your help would be awesome- thank you!
