Hi there! Welcome to Day 1 of the Pink Paislee Winter Wonderland Event! Today I have a home decor project to share that may be easily created to decorate your home for the upcoming holidays! Referring to a tutorial I found here, I made a wall hanging featuring this type of cone decoration.
Shown below are a few easy steps to follow to get you started so you are able to create one of these as well. And…just in case you don’t have these papers on hand Pink Paislee’s FREE PRINTABLE for today’s project is posted below! The (2) 8.5″ x 11″ printable papers will help you create this cone wreath for your own project. And remember….these papers are also available in a digital format if you want all the other patterns to match!
Step 1: Cut (12) 2″ x 2″ and (12) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares out of the Snow Day – Snowball Fight paper. You will have 24 total pieces when you are finished.
Step 2: Curl and Fold paper squares to create cones – adhere one side over the other.
Step 3: Cut a 3 1/2″ circle of Snow Day – Frosty patterned paper (or any cardstock paper base) and adhere larger cones first to create the bottom layer starting at 12:00 point, followed by 3:00, 6:00, then 9:00. Continue to fill in bottom layer with larger paper cones.
Step 4: Once bottom layer is completed, repeat process in Step 3 with the exception of adhering smaller cones IN between larger cones.
Step 5: Adhere glitter to decoration, then cut a scalloped circle of Snow Day – Warm Mittens patterned paper, adhere snowflake sticker from Snow Day – Dimensional Stickers then adhere to center of decoration, set aside.
Step 6: Finish off by die cutting or punching a scalloped border and trim it to measure 7 1/2″ W x 1 1/4″ H – adhere to bottom edge of Prima Refill Canvas Page. Cut a piece of Snow Day – Warm Mittens patterned paper 7 1/2″ W x 8 1/4″ H, adhere to Prima Refill Canvas Page, stitch in place. Adhere cone decoration to wall hanging. Paint wooden letters from Wood Shop Alphabets – Timber white, adhere glitter, adhere to wall hanging.
To help you create your paper cone wreath we are giving away 2 sheets of 8.5″ x 11″ papers in a digital format so you can print them out on your home computer! Just use a smooth white cardstock or similar type of paper and set your printer to color mode! It is that easy. These files are full size 8.5″ x 11″ .jpeg images at 300 dpi so they will print just like you see them here. Click the image above to start your download; then unzip the file and save the folder to your documents.
TIP: If you want double sided paper cones just remember to print these patterns on both sides (run it through your printer on the second side after the first side is dry!)

I haven’t traditionally hung a wreath on my front door (this is only our 3rd Christmas in our own house), but I have plans to make one (soon!) for this year… I’m thinking it will either be a Christmas ornament wreath or a yarn-wrapped wreath.
That’s really cute! I can think of some really great ways that would translate onto a 12×12 canvas too.
I have a beautiful indoor wreath made of curled paper I created a week or so back and I found a stunner I am trying to recreate for the front door that starts with a picture frame…..usually we don’t ahve a wreath up, just some of those cling things but I rationalized that the door is mine if I let the kids decorate the tree to their liking….lol
I have a fake greenery wreath because unfortunately, anything I created in paper would blow away in the wind

My wreath is made of lights and sits on a timer that lights up every evening, very old plastic thing, but it’s tradition.
This year it’s a metal wreath with a snowman scene on it. I found it at a rummage sale and loved it. It replaced my traditional wreath….that will get a new place to hang this year.
It is a traditional greenery wreath with a red bow and cardinals!
I love this project! I am immediately inspired to make a smaller version for a layout. Thank you! My wreath on my front door is one of my favourite Christmas decorations. I either hang a traditional wreath (gold/red ribbons, pinecones…) or something a little more non-traditionala (a white wreath with teal and silver and icy purple accents!). I am feeling traditional this year so wreath #1 it is.
Great decor idea! So simple and so adorable! As for the wreath I hang, this year is actually THE FIRST year I’ve hung a wreath! The wreath that is hung up I made (my first time making a wreath too!) and it took about a week to do. It’s Christmasy and classic using rolled roses from recycled books, burlap ribbon, a Santa ornament and a floral stem I tore apart for it’s pieces.
Love the decor!! Beautiful!!! We hang a standard greenery wreath with silver twigs and berries. It also has really pretty blue LED lights… it matches our tree lights.
This is so pretty! Thanks for the digi paper! I hang a green decorated wreath on the door (green artificial) I made it about 20 years ago when we first got married so its tradition! I do spruce it up every year fixing or replacing anything that may have broken. Some years I may have changed ot the ribbon depending on where we live and what color the house – it has been red. purple or white – this year red!

I have an artifical wreath with multicolored lights that I hang on my front door every year. It is very not really bright, but with my other decorations in my yard it really looks pretty.

For the first time ever I bought a real wreath. Usually I hang a handmade one I bought at Michaels. This paper wreath is beautiful!!
We have a grapevine star shaped wreath decorated with Christmas ornaments and seashells. We live near the beach, so when we made the wreath, my son said it should have seashells on it. It’s colours are red and white and the wreath is glittery.

My door wreath, has moved to the outside of my brick home, right beside the door. Super sized wreath to fit between the house door and front window. Its a green artifical pine wreath to stand up to the wind and snow!. Inside door side , again moved to the side wall, pine wreath as well at this point.

I hand a large Christmas wreath decorated with ornaments, ribbon, pine cones, and little figures on the outside of my door, and on the inside I have an artificial cascading greenery with a horn, swirling ribbons, pinecones in the shape of a huge V.

Where I come from – Bulgaria – we don’t put Christmas wreath on the door, nor at the house. But we are really big on Christmas tree decoration. That’s why I can’t wait to see what more you have for us on your Winter Wonderland event!:-)

My front door is exposed to the elements, so I have a fake wreath with red poinsettia blooms on it. However, the inside front door has a beautiful glass ornament wreath a la Eddie Ross.
We have a red and white jingle bell wreath on our door, but I hope to make a Xmas one out of red and white yarn balls with gold knitting needles.

We have always hung a fresh evergreen wreath on our front door. We purchase it at the same time cut our tree. It is very traditional with a red ribbon bow or an ornament, couldn’t imagine anything else on our front door now.

I hang a blue and silver poinsettia wreath on my front door and a blue and silver jingle bell wreath on my back door. Then, just to aggravate my husband, I have a mini jingle bell wreath to hang on the door knob to the garage door. It sounds very festive to me but he doesn’t think so! : )

We just have your standard, run-of-the-mill green wreath with baby’s breath, dried cranberries and holly mixed in–topped off with a red bow that matches the wreaths hung in each of our front windows!
I have a wonderful green pine wreath with fruit. It looks Christmasy because of the big red bow, but I leave it up through January because it is kind of neutral.

I always hang a little vine wreath with a penguin ornament on my door. I made the wooden penguin myself back when I was into painting wooden ornaments (before I started papercrafting, in other words!)
I hang a fake wreath on my front door, but there is a sentimental reason. I have been married for 40 years and this is the same wreath we have used every year. It evergreen with ribbon around it and a red bow ( I have replaced the bow).

I actually made my wreath years ago and as it got boring, I have added lights, more ribbon poofs, iced fruits, and a little jeweled red bird in the center. Of course I change out the big bow every year. But I also have 3 indoor wreaths

I use 2 very old wreaths. They have been used by our family for the last 22 years. It just looks like home when we get there and see the evergreen with pine cones, holly berry bunches and red velvet ribbon on the doors.
I have fake greenery, too. The weather is just too severe for anything fragile.

My daughter and I make a wreath every year or the past 7 years out of real evergreen clippings. I love this tradition and the smell of pine as you walk up to the front door is wonderful!

We always make a new grapevine wreath with the cutting from the vineyard where my husband works. We then gather cuttings from around the yard and tuck them in. Just always feels like the holidays when we do that!!!!

I always order a fresh wreath from the 5th graders. It always comes the week before Thanksgiving and lasts until just after Christmas. It leaves a nice natural and fresh touch to the front door and goes along with the rest of the outdoor decorations.

Can’t hang a paper wreath on my door, because here in WI it would get ruined from all the snow we get. I usually have a live balsam wreath on my from door with battery operated string lights and waterproof ornaments and jinglebells!
Love the Christmas Canvas project!!! We have 3 wreaths, one on the front door made from twigs and wood (it displays a Santa, Snowman and Reindeer), one on the bathroom door (that would be my boyfriend) and one on the back upper patio door. A twiggy, piney wreath with a snowman….he is versitle so can leave up during January as well……due to the weather I usually don’t put out anything I’ve created with paper….however, I love to add my paper creations throughout the house.
Living in the Mid-Atlantic, we never know what type of weather we are going to get around Christmastime…it could be 60 degrees…or it could be 20 degrees. Since I do not have a covered porch, I usually use an evergreen wreath that I dress up with plastic ornaments, bowes and such.
We hang a decorated, artificial greenery swag that my floral design talented roommate made. It is not in the traditional Christmas colors so it is really striking.
We have 2 on the frontdoor. THe one inside came from my mother-in-law that plays music. THe one outside my Dear Hubby make years ago. I want to have my kids build a new on this year. We shall see. Love your idea and have added it to make this year list. Love your papers!!!

I usually hang a handmade evergreen wreath on the front door. I get together with some girlfriends early in the month and we have a “make your own wreath” party with greenery, wired ribbons, dried pomegranates, etc. And of course hot toddy’s!

I usually buy a very simple juniper-wreath (love the scent!) from the local Amnesty-branch at the X-mas fair, but since I’ve moved I really don’t know what to get this year. I like giving when I buy, so I’m on the lookout for another place that sells wreaths and gives the money to charity. If I can’t find one I guess I’ll just make a wreath myself and donate directly!

We hang a big pine wreath on our front door every year. Depending on what’s hanging around the house, we’ll jazz it up with some ribbon, berries, pinecones, whatever. We also have the pine garland that wraps around our door. I love how it looks!!

Living in Canada with our cold winter weather I love to hang an evergreen wreath with pinecones and berries. Every time I use the front door I enjoy the beautiful smells of christmas. It just makes me happy.

I have an artificial evergreen wreath that I change the decor on each year or two. This year it is bright colors with peacock feathers and solar powered colored LED lights.
I have a large traditional one that I make at the annual get together at our local church. We have a lovely meal together before we get to work.It is made of box and pine.Then I decorate with white and silver details and a big red bow to finish it.

My wreath is a big evergreen covered with gold and sapphire velvet poinsettias, gilttery gold ribbon, gold and sapphire ornaments tucked in here and there, and a gold glittered bird. I have to hang it on the inside of my front door, though… it’s super windy up where I live and it would just blow away otherwise!

I always hang a wreath that i have embellished for the season we are in. A few years ago i bought a battery operated lighted wreath and embellished in silver and gold with a hint of dark Christmas red and Peacock Feathers! This year my inspiration is moving towards an icy green, aubergine and of course, bling it up with silver and gold!

As for a wreath we have several
on the front door we have the traditional green fern/spray tree with a little christmas ribbon. On each picket fence and on the gate fences we have the same!

I have a faux-pine wreath with a Folk-Art painted Santa who looks like he just arrived through the wreath….it’s comical and very Christmas-y! I love him, and he took many hours to paint as I made several of them at once, for gifts. oh wow! i love this project. I have got to try that technique. we try to hang a live wreath from branches we’ve trimmed from our live christmas tree. It’s fun to decorate with handmade and tiny ornaments. Each year it looks completely diff!
I have a green pine wreath with snow and ice crystals. I change the bow every year to vary it. It sometimes has tiny lights woven in.
We have actually never had a wreath, but this year The Hubbums ordered one to support one of his students so we will have a real wreath on the door! I will probably put my own ribbon on it! I’m excited! I do have a pretty white fabric one that I made inside the house.
LOVE the paper cones and thanks for the freebie. We live in a condo community so instead of hanging the wreath on the front door, I hang two wreaths, one on each bedroom door. They are both faux evergreen boughs, one decorated in reds and greens with Santa, toys, etc. and the other is blues and purples, also with a Santa. I made both of them years ago.
This year I am making a wreath out of a bunch of christmas ornaments! I have too many for the tree, so I thought I would find another place for them!
Love the cone decoration! I use a red berry wreath on the front porch by the door. We live in a log home in a pine forest & the red berries add a nice bright spot.
We have a double front door, so we have 2 matching wreaths. They are green pine wreaths with holly berries and other sparkly decorations woven in them. Since we live in Florida, we sometimes find lizards or anoles have made their home in them as well.
I hang two wreaths…..one fresh on the front door and the indoor one I made years ago with Michael’s green base and attached fake fruit, pine cones, rolls of sheet music, gold painted leaves, berries, holly and even a 18″ violin with a victorian ribbon bow to finish.

I bought a faux wreath, but decorated it with ornaments.
Mine would be a fake wreath, that I picked up a Michaels a few years back–it hangs outside in the rough elements of a MT winter. There is also a wreath on my door that a co-worker made me in a Secret Santa swap a while ago.

I have an adorable Mickey and Minnie wreath on my door. The whole wreath is made from strips of felt and with felt circles for berries. And sitting in the middle are two little stuffies of Mickey and Minnie.

I LOVE wreaths, and have lots all over the house, my two favourites are my red berry wreath on the front door and my old book paper wreath I made that is in my lounge room.
The wreath on my front door is usually a fresh pine wreath with juniper berries. Last year, I had to settle for pine cones. Not sure what will happen this year! It will definitely be a fresh pine wreath though.

I do a traditional wreath in blue and silver and actually hang it on Dec 1st. I don’t like starting Christmas early – if I do, by the actual day I am all Christmas-ed out… this way I have just over three weeks to get ready and enjoy the season.

I make a fresh spruce wreath each year to put on my door from the trees in the bush behind my back yard.
Great project and thanks for the printables! I’m going to start one tonight. I have had the same wreath on my front door since we moved into our new home 17 years ago. It is a fake green one with red bows scattered on it. I think it’s time to be “retired”, but the kids think it’s tradition.
We do a handmade wreath that is made right at the Christmas tree farm!
We will pick that up when we cut our tree which this year is on the 10th which happens to be my Birthday!!

My beautiful daughter (who just turned 40) this year made a paper wreath when she was in kindergarten…it is worn and torn but made with lots of love. Every year, I still hang this darling wreath on my front door. Thank you so much for the opportunity to win a prize!

Last year I made a MITTEN (similar to Santa style mittens) WREATH FOR OUR FRONT DOOR out of PAPER, FELT, RIBBON and BUTTONS and GLITTER using traditional christmas colors. It took alot of work but let me tell you I have gotten many requests to make my friends and family one. I display one other wreath in my house at the back door and it’s a tinsel wreath with bells, ornaments, in some non-traditinal christmas colors like the bright green,turqouise, pink and other colors. The kids and pets love it cause the big bell rings when they run in and out of the house.
We have a fake wreath on the front of the house with colored lights.

Our wreath is one that the boys made at playgroup one year with loads of tinsel and tacky ornaments. It is really horrible, but I cant not hang it, so it comes out every year and takes pride of place on the front door..LOL

I have two wreaths at my front door…one under each light beside the door. They are grapevine wreaths with a wooden piece behind them that I painted a cute little girl onto. I decorate them for all seasons by adding things. For Christmas I added red velvet bows and some fake greenery. Love the project today. I can’t wait to try it myself. Thanks for the chance to win!

I have a very artsy friend who makes ornament wreaths out of luan boards. She paints the big ornament and puts polka dots on it with all the family’s names in the dots. It’s adorable!

I made the wire base about 5 years ago and beings we aren’t able to have a live tree in our home I always do a pine wreath outside~~then I have a really sweet vintage santa piece that I attach to the center with some jingle bells and a welcom sign!! We have a faux evergreen wreath on our door that I attached a big red bow on. It is actually also a battery operated wreath that lights up. We always set it on the twinkle setting and love that it has a timer so no worries about turning it on and off.

I usually hand an evergreen wreath outside, and a fragile old ornament wreath just as you enter my house. Love wreaths~ saw an idea of a wreath hung on top of a mirror and want to try that this year.
We have a twig wreath hanging on the door. It’s more winters than Christmas with lots of pine cones and evergreens. I add a few pink hearts and it becomes a Valentines Day wreath later in the season.

I usually have an artificial wreath hanging on my front door but I love to switch up the look of it each year. This year it has red and lime green ball ornaments that are sparkly and glittery and a glittered ornament that says “JOY” in large letters! Oh and of course a big bow!!!
I also crafted an all paper wreath, that will be up on the Cricut Circle blog this Saturday, but it will be staying inside with me and my hot cocoa!!!!

I hang a wreath on my fireplace so I can see the wreath. Its an artificial wreath that has hand carved Santa ornaments that my father carved tied to it. Since my father died 2 years ago, it is extra special to me. Love you project and am looking forward to the rest of the Winter Wonderland.

I have a fake green leaf wreath that I leave up year round and just add different ribbon and decorations to it depending on the season.
This year we have a wreath of glass ornaments. I was in the mood for something different!
I always cut some branches off the evergreen’s that line a wall in our backyard. I tie them on to a wire wreath form and add a big red bow and red glass ball ornaments. It looks so pretty and smells wonderful as you come and go each day

I actually am using a wreath that is made up of my two son’s handprints. We had a great time tracing and cutting out hands and then making the wreath. We used large red vintage buttons to make holly for the top!

I just hung our evergreen wreath up today! I’m hoping to find some cute sprigs of something fun to tuck in it but right now it’s pretty plain!

We have not displayed a wreath in several years. Now that my hubby has renovated our front porch and landscaping so beautifully, I am looking for the right wreath and holiday decorations to complement it.
I put the traditional green artificial wreath with blue and silver embellishments on it. Great project.

Thank you so much for the detailed tutorial and the free downloads. I think I might give this a try! Oh, and I also put a live (real) wreath on my front door…I add in the various goodies…red berries, pinecones, this year a darling little bird’s nest & bird and of course, ribbon and a big bow!
I hang a jimgle wreath on my door every year. I love to hear the bells whenever someone opens the door.

I hang a fresh pine wreath on the front door. The local skating club sells them as a fundraiser and it lasts all winter!
I hang a traditional evergreen wreath that we decorate with handmade ornaments that my children made when they were in elemetary school. They are both adults, but still love this part of decorating our home. And, we now have a three year old grandaughter who will be adding her first ornament from school this year. The canvas project is FAB!!

My mom made us a beautiful wreath a couple years ago, and it’s what we put on the front door. It’s a round fake evergreen wreath with the cutest little snowman sitting in the middle. I have a red jingle bell wreath! I love hearing all the bells when family and friends come over! I can’t wait to make this project for the inside!
I have a tole painted old fashioned santa head by the door….can’t hang any thing on the front door due to windows, but on the back door I hang a gingerbread man decorated wreath because my shole kitech is done in cute gingerbreads.

Thank you for the free printables and cute project! As for my front door, I hang a wreath with artificial pine tree branches, pine cones and holly berries in two shades of red which some are covered with artificial ice.
I have a homemade ornament wreath that I made last year.

I love a big, full wreath I make out of Christmas tree leftovers and branches and pine cones from my yard. I top it all off with a hand made bow!

Since we are in a warm weather climate (Californis) I like to hang fresh greens to get that wintery fragrance going from the front door. Last year I used foam and fashioned the initial of our family name. It turned out very nice, try it.

We have a traditional faux leave wreath for the front door with lights, and a few handmade bird decorations that I update each year with my fave festive papers.
Well, I have giant pine trees around my house, so i have a giant wreath made of greenery and lemons. love using all these beautiful natures natural textures during the winter. during fall i had one made of branches that were becoming bear, which i decorated with the multicolored leave’s from yard
and apples. so yes i try to reflect the season on the door.
I love a big Greenery Wreath with our beautiful Vintage “Shiney Bright” Bulbs and a big bow on top. I usually like to mix pine, evergreens and mix in some beautiful Holly with berries into the wreath first. Then I wire in the Shiney Bright Bulbs. It always looks so festive. Last year I added from battery operated little white lights for night time but kept forgetting to turn them on.

I always have a lush, fresh wreath of juniper,cedar and pines together. With berries and pine cones. Then each year I change it up with something different. This year it will be a Bid gold foil “R” that represents our family name hung by a nice red plaid bow.

I make my own from stuff I find in the wood outside. It tend to be very large and kind of wild. This year though I’m making one of frosted snowflakes made with my silhouette arranged in the round window of the door with a merry christmas in the middle.

ok.. no lying this christmas. I don’t hang ANY wreath on the front door.. but it’s because I hang them all inside so WE can enjoy them! I love buying picks .. tearing them apart and then creating my own wreaths

i don’t know if it is really a wreath, i hang a brass french horn with faux evergreen and holly accenting it. i made this years ago and it is still holding up very well. i hang Christmas bess off the mailbox. sorta a musical theme which happened by accident.

The first year we were married & bought our house, I found an adorable teddy bear snowman wreath – 3 little plushies on a grapevine wreath with sprigs, boughs and berries and a cute little pack that says “NOEL”. This is the 8th year we’ve hung it and probably the last as it’s a little worse for wear – but my boys look forward to seeing it on the door each Christmas and I’ll probably just re-work it somehow for next year.

Ummm what do I have on my front door, well I don’t have a normal front door as I live on a property my front door is completely glass so am unable to hang anything on it, but if I could I would certainly have to give the hand made one ago. Love it!!!
