Miss Arts Papercrafting Mini Class – Dec. 17th

Join Miss Art’s Papercrafting School and teacher Alyssa McGrew on December 17th for a Take 2 Mini Class!  Inspired by the hexagon-shaped Chip Tiles recently released by Pink Paislee, we will be showing you how to use them, along with papers from the Nantucket Collection, to create a simply gorgeous wall hanging.  In just 2 minutes, we will be demonstrating this technique and showing you how to replicate it for your own home’s decor.

Here is more information about Take 2: The holidays seem to be more and more about havoc harriedness and less and less about harmonious happiness. During this season of merriment we invite you to share in a few moments, 2 – to be precise, of calm creative contentment. For less than the price of your contribution to the annual white elephant contest at the office and a whole lot less hassle than returning another ugly sweater from Great Aunt Bonnie, give yourself a gift you’ll truly enjoy – 20 segments of innovative inspiration, 5 massive giveaways from our generous sponsors, and 4 mini kits to help recreate what you learned. From Dec. 1 to Dec. 20 Miss Art’s Papercrafting School will be offering a new two minute mini-class each day showcasing a different manufacturer’s new releases. Weekly kits will feature the best supplies from that week’s classes for the a la’ carte price of $4.99 or you can save a few Christmas quid and purchase all four kits at once for $17.99, a sensational seasonal savings.

Winter Wonderland Event {Day 12 Mittens Or Gloves?}

Welcome to the final day of the Pink Paislee Winter Wonderland Event!  What an amazing, inspirational, hand crafted journey we have been on for the last 12 days!  It has been such an honor for all of us to share these ideas with everyone. We know you are busy during this time of year and we appreciate that you “stopped by” and we loved reading your comments – they have put a huge smile on our faces.

Today I have a few darling paper mitten shaped ornaments to share with you.

Shown below are a few samples of mitten ornaments made using various combinations of fun Snow Days patterned paper. This set combines, Cozy Sweater and Warm Mittens:

and this set combines, Cozy Sweater and Hot Cocoa:

Shown below are a few easy steps to follow to get you started so you are able to create a pair of these darling mitten ornaments:

Step 1: Using a Spellbinders S4-285 Nested Mitten die template, cut mitten x 4, making sure to cut 2 right hand and 2 left hand so you have a front and backside for each mitten. Cut contrasting color of patterned paper using Spellbinders S4-285 Nested Mitten die template to cut mitten cuff.

Step 2: Adhere and stitch mitten cuffs in place. (stitching is optional)

Step 3: Using a fine tip applicator, apply adhesive around perimeter of mitten EXCEPT for upper cuff edge. Once adhesive is dry, using a tool such as a blunt tweezers, stuff mitten with a cotton ball.  Mitten will be slightly dimensional.

Step 4: Adhere upper edge of mitten closed, punch hole in upper left corner of both mittens. Using a Spellbinders S5-029 Nested Lacey Pennants die template, cut a tag then apply sentiment using Bitty Blocks.

Step 5: Using a piece of metallic cord, tie mittens together including 2 jingle bells and sentiment tag. Position mittens as desired, adhere together using a glue dot then attach a hanger made from a piece of metallic cord.

Thanks so much for looking! I hope you are inspired to create some homemade ornaments as well!

Ok…so you want to make some mitten paper ornaments too right?  We did too; but we don’t have the Spellbinders Die’s that Mona used so we quickly hand sketched our own mitten!  Today’s FREE PRINTABLE is a template that can be used to trace your own paper mittens if you don’t have any dies! Just click the image above and then right click the image that pops up to save it to your documents folder. Don’t forget you can use them over and over again as needed!

Winter Wonderland Event {Day 11 tag you’re it}

Welcome to day 11 of the Pink Paislee Winter Wonderland Event!  We have spotted lots of Free Printable gift tags circulating around the internet these past few weeks – and while pre-printed gift tags or even store bought tags make gift giving quick and easy; we think handcrafting your own paper tags can be just as fun!  If you prepare your supplies in advance and take an hour or so to make them all at once then you will have them ready and waiting when you need them.  I absolutely love this idea because it allows you to “match” your gift wrap colors perfectly!  Today we are going to show you a few handmade gift tag ideas that you can use as inspiration for your own versions!

This Snow Day line is as wintery sweet as can be!  I love anything with a red and aqua color palette so this one was right up my alley.  The dimensional stickers and ephemera in the Snow Day line make creating tags a cinch!  Here are three tags I whipped up in no time flat!

Snow Day Tag #1

Love these snowflakes from the Snow Day Ephemera pack!!!  Great embellishment!  Add a little sparkle with a gem or two.

Snuggle Up Round Tag #2

The Dimensional Stickers from the Snow Day Dimensional sticker set are too cute!!!  The layered effect makes adding pizzazz to a tag or card so easy.

Bundle Up Snowman Tag #3

This tag is me favorite!  I mixed all of the wonderful elements from the Snow Day line and added them to this tag.  One of the items that Pink Paislee makes that I love is the wood shapes!  So this little snowman had to make it onto one of the tags I made.  Here is how I “dressed him up”…

Step 1: Use Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist to spritz the wood shape

Step 2: Dry Between Layers – but keep misting until desired color is achieved.

Step 3: To add a little color to the snowman’s hat I used black diamond stickles

Step 4: To add some sparkly snow to the body I covered him with “diamond” stickles

Step 5: To finish off the snowman and to add even more sparkle – sprinkle on some dry silver glitter over the wet stickles.  Then allow the entire piece to dry.

Now let’s get to some really FUN stuff:  the daily giveaway!

If you would like to be entered into our Daily Blog Giveaway just answer the following question:  DO YOU MAKE YOUR OWN GIFT TAGS OR DO YOU RELY ON STORE BOUGHT TAGS?  OR DO YOU USE SOME SORT OF COMBINATION OF THE TWO? Leave your answer on today’s blog post (leave us a comment) and you are automatically entered into the drawing for today’s “SECRET SCRAPPY GIFT.”  Winner will be announced tomorrow morning.

That wraps up today’s Winter Wonderland inspiration! Be sure to visit us again tomorrow for more inspiration, freebies, and chances to win another TOP SECRET prize pack!

I hope you have as much fun as I did playing with the Snow Day papers, ephemera and wood shapes!
