Meet Creative Team Member Felicitas Klink

Also, today we would love to welcome Felicitas to our team! She is from Germany! Let me tell you more about her…

A little about Felicitas:

Hi everyone! My Name is Felicitas Klink and I live in Stuttgart (Germany) with my supportive husband Steffen. I’m happy to be a full time artist, and I’m addicted to paper and colors. I started paper crafting in 2009 and I had a huge crush on classical scrapbooking with paper, scissors and glue. In 2010, I took a look inside the mixed media world and I totally fell in love with. Since that date I try to combine those both worlds as you see in my art work.

I host a bilingual weblog at www.felicitasklink.de where I share my latest projects and routinely videos, and I post DIY-Tutorials for ongoing techniques and samples. At this moment, I am on two other international design teams. I also write for a German speaking scrap magazine. My art work is very detail oriented. I have a passion for mixing different colors, styles and supplies in my projects. By combining all those items, I create multi-layered scrapbooking layouts, cards and mixed media art.

How did you get started in paper crafting?

I always was creative. My mom always has crafted with us kids. When I was a teenager I started painting and cardmaking. In summer 2009, I found my very first YouTube video about scrapbooking and I fell totally in love with it. I watched tons of those videos and surfed so many blogs before I made my very first scrapbooking project. I think videos are a great medium to learn techniques or watch something new, because you really “see” something.

What inspires you to create?

I read lots of creativity weblogs, not only scrapbooking, but I also browse mixed media, fashion and food based blogs, as well as lifestyle blogs. I read home decor magazines and books, and of course I see so much inspriration at Pinterest and Social Networks like Facebook.

Do you prefer layouts, altered projects, cards…or all of the above?

When I started scrapbooking, I created lots of layouts (12×12) and cards. But now I also love home decor pieces in mixed media style. For me it’s very important to create. I love the creative process as itself. I love to put different supply pieces on a table and create something completely new out of it. That’s why I’m doing that. So, it’s not really important what kind of art work I’m creating.

How would you describe your style?

Oh, that’s hard. I love colors and layering and love to mix it all up. But I also have a crush on this light and bright look. My art work compromise all together, or it’s something between. I think it’s important to try something new and to combine pieces that doesn’t match at the first sight.

A fun fact about you?

When I’m driving in my car through the city on very familiar streets like the repeating way to the bakery or something like that, I have a bad habit on crossroads: I memorize all sequences of the traffic lights. This is why I hate road works or break downs because it confuses my counting.

Any other hobbies?

Oh, I love to try new recipies in the kitchen with my husband and to cook special dinner for family and friends. I also go geocaching on weekends and free time. But to be honest: in the last months, I had no time for that.

What is your favorite Pink Paislee product?

Oh boy, that’s really hard! I think I love Pink Paislee’s paper collections most, especially Nantucket. I bought all the papers twice! The new Mistables and Wood Shop are also very cool. I adore color sprays, which these supplies are great to combine with. But in general, it’s all about the versatility of the Pink Paislee’s products. I think that is why every papercrafter likes it as much as I do.

Felicitas sent us one of her favorite mixed media projects created with Pink Paislee products…quite detailed in its layering, don’t you agree?
