*UPDATE: WINNER IS BARBARA STARADUMSKY! CONGRATS BARBARA*

I’m taking a break from creating content for my all new Big Picture class today to visit here at Pink Paislee and share a brand new layout (and some creative tips!) I am also here to give away a spot in my new Big Picture class. Be sure to read the bottom of this blog post to find out how you can earn a chance to win!

For this layout I played with some of my favorites from the Snow Day and Mistables lines. The background was created by folding and curling two pieces of (Snow Day) paper over a background of mistables paper that I used color wash on in the exposed area. I just LOVE how I can customize the Mistables Papers to suit my needs! For a little added texture and hold, I stitched the papers together.

The Mistables Chipboard Alphabet that I used for my title are one of my new favorite things – I’ve used three packages of them in my scrapbooking projects already! For this look, I colored the letters with a light color, then edged them with a darker ink, added distress stickles, and finally coated them with glossy accents so that they have a shiny clear finish. The photo above show the letters in their various stages.

Here you can see the finished look – aren’t they fun?

With my two (4×6) photos, some Snow Day die cuts, bitty block stickers, and a bit of journaling the rest of my layout came together quickly. I just love the customized details that Mistables lets me give to my projects – and how this bit of winter fashion quickly came together into a page that’s definitely one of my recent favorites.
I’m including this title letter technique in a video in week #4 of my new Big Picture class The Curious Scrapbooker’s Field Guide: 12 weeks of techniques and creative play. In this class I do plenty of scrapbook layouts as well as hop off the page – and with more than 50 videos over twelve weeks (not to mention new handouts and multiple projects each week) it is going to be an action packed craft-fest! I can hardly wait.
Class starts on February 9th, and you can find all of the registration information (and a video) on the information page HERE
BUT…….If you’d like to win a spot in class, just leave a comment here and a winner will be drawn on January 5th, 2012.
Thanks to Pink Paislee for having me, and for making products that have me crafting happy!

Instructor May Flaum is a lifelong crafter who has taught many classes both in stores and online here at Big Picture. She has authored two books, worked with many top manufacturers, managed a scrapbook store and so much more – all the better to lead her to teaching this class. Drawing from her experience and sharing in an approachable way, she will break down all kinds of products that you may already own – and some that you’ll wish to have. Her outlook when it comes to life and crafting is focusing on having fun, and avoiding rules that prevent said fun. With her love of experimenting and years of expertise in scrapbooking and paper craft arts in general, this class will guide students through all kinds of wonderful techniques and showcase multiple all-new projects each week.

What a great idea! I’d love to win a spot. Where I live, there is not an abundance of places for classes and to learn new techniques. Hence, I must take the initiative and discover techniques, tips, etc. on my own. This class would provide me with an opportunity for creative growth and discover something that I can share with the 4-H members/children that I teach scrapbooking to!
Would LOVE to win this !!
