This week we are going to take a tour of the studio space that is occupied by our Video Host Lisa Cole! This room is so amazingly organized and calming. I think it would be fun to spend a day here! I love the colors in her room as well as her clean and uncluttered style.
About Lisa’s Space
This is the view of my scraproom as I enter. I made a purposeful decision to decorate it with bold colors, and even though I’m not finished yet, I feel like I have a good start I found these flocked draperies and built around them, adding fuschia and lime green to compliment the black. I found this cute little chair at Ikea and even put it together by myself!
I purchased some Expedit shelving, also at Ikea, and it stores most everything I have and use while I scrap. I’m a “stuffer”, so adding the doors and drawers was very important to me – I love to just quickly pick up and stuff things away, and this makes it easy for me to start fresh. I mixed some natural baskets from Ikea and bright fabric bins from Target. I have bins that hold all of my alphabets, stamps, inks, punches; and behind some of the doors are my Cuttlebug and accessories, a dedicated section of varied adhesives; and drawers that are dedicated to miscellaneous “bling”, completed cards to send when I need them, acrylic stamping blocks in different sizes, and other little doo-dads.
Also purchased from Ikea is this drafting table that I use as my workspace. I love that it can vary in height, it has sawhorse styled legs that have storage, and it’s plenty big for me to spread out all of my goodies to create.
This is one of my bins dedicated *especially* for Pink Paislee goodness!
This is a view behind some doors of the Expedit where I store my stamps, inks, mists, etc.
This bin is dedicated to punches – I love that whenever I need them, I can just pull the bin over to the table and get what I need.
More About Lisa:
Scrapbook Style – I am very linear minded, I love clean lines and hand journaling. I love patterned paper and use it for my main background a lot, I don’t use a lot of cardstock.
Inspiration – I find a lot of inspiration simply from color. I love my magazines for color pop, I’m drawn to displays in stores, and conceive a lot of journaling ideas from song lyrics.
Favorite Product – I love alphas of all sorts – especially Pink Paislee’s Weathered Wood.
One Wish – How simple this sounds, but I honestly wish for world peace. I would love for my daughter and her children to live in a happier world.
Favorite Movie – When I need a good cry? Bridges of Madison County; when I need life inspiration? Shawshank Redemption; when I want to laugh? Pretty Woman.
Guilty Pleasure – Baskin Robbins Peanut Butter & Chocolate scoop on a sugar cone.
Favorite Memory – my Dad whistling all the time
One Fear – the dark!
First Job – I was a First Mate at Long John Silver’s – I came home smelling like fish every day! But I learned how to make a mean cole slaw, and pour a proper beer, and I was Queen of the drive-through.
Music – Love pop with an urban edge (that’s what my local station calls it!): Katy Perry, Train, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Jason DeRulo, John Mayer, Usher, Kings of Leon.
Typical Day – I work at a local court and listen to a lot of stories every day. It can be tedious, but I love that it’s only 5 minutes from my house and my daughter’s school – my commute is great! My evenings are consumed with soccer several times a week, but it is a joy to watch my daughter play. I’m usually creative on the weekend due to my schedule, but I love my down time to enjoy my house and all of my scrapbooking goodies!
Signature Piece of Clothing – My Dooney & Bourke gray and black purse. It goes with everything and is always in style.
