Hello everyone, Karola here with another inspiration for our Spring Fling week! My today’s project is shadowbox – a perfect home decor for spring and Easter time. When I create any shadow box, I always decorate it with so many 3d elements – this way you can create your own scenery, and the whole effect is amazingly dimensional and interesting.
When we talking of Spring theme projects – the Spring Jubilee collection is perfect for any type of projects for this occasion and I used this beautiful line for my shadowbox too.
First, I covered the box using 12 x 12 papers – Spring Jubilee – Bash for the inside and Spring Jubilee – Party for the outside of the box. Then I started cutting out some additional elements. I decided to put in a large egg. My idea was to make a broken and embossed egg, and I adhered 2 pieces of this egg on transparent foil. This way I could make a impression that the egg is open and I added also some 3d paint dots around the egg to highlight the shape. I used some 12 x 12 papers to cut out stunning motifs like a butterflies and the bird on the branch to make lots of layers on my project. On the bottom part of the box, I put some thin, wrinkled paper strips that mimic grass or crushed hay. This is the way by which you can make a small nest in a few minutes. To make a background scene, I used pieces from Spring Jubilee – Press Ons.
