This one is all for those little ones for Valentine’s Day. There is so much joy in creating a handcut paper monster. So many options…the funny face, the mix of patterns and colors and piecing together something that will make your little ones smile and let out a few giggles. This project uses your imagination, a pair of scissors and adhesive all wrapped around a glass jar full of sweet treats in just a few simple steps.
Begin with a jar, one that is smooth on all sides works best. Wrap paper around the jar and adhere. Now it is time to assemble your monster. The arms and legs were created from 1″ by 6″ – 8″ strips of paper from Prairie Hill, scored and folded at 1/2″ increments. Free handcut each foot and hand and attached using foam adhesive at both ends (Spring Jubilee paper used for hands, nose, horns, feet). Punch holes in each hand to add wire banner, which is created using wire, City Sidewalks handcut hearts, London Market pennants and a couple of buttons and ribbon/twine. Added a button from Indigo Bleu and layered a London Market spool button and denim brad from Indigo Bleu to the front of the jar/monster. Once you have completed your monster, add your treats to the jar.
Yum! Time to share and spread the love and a few funny faces…
