February’s Color Crush is soft and dreamy. I created a dreamy layout to go along with it. We are usually so caught up in capturing our children’s “firsts”, while may times the “lasts” drift through our lives without us even noticing. Well, my page today is about one of those “lasts” …the last day I had my youngest home with me before she dove head-first into full-time kindergarten. (sniff.)
I combined elements from lots of different collections for my page today…papers from the Cottage Farms and Secret Crush collections, diecuts from Cottage Farms and Hope Chest, and a pretty burlap butterfly from Hope Chest. There are also bits of the Artisan and Portfolio collections thrown in for good measure. I love how the Color Crush feature challenges me to pull bits and pieces for different collections…and yet they all seem to work so well together!
The title is made up of Artisan stickers and some Heidi Swapp Clear Pop mint alphas. I couldn’t resist adding the “let’s stay here forever” sticker from the Hope Chest Label Stickers…because I really would like to keep her here with me forever! :-)
I also used the numbers from the Clear Pop alpha set to create a fun border. I just stitched through them with my sewing machine to keep them in place and add some texture.
To add the journaling to the Cottage Farms journaling card, I simply typed it up in my word processing program and formatted it to fit on the card, then printed it onto clear sticker paper.
Just peel away the backing and adhere it to the card…so quick and easy and professional looking!
Thanks for joining me today and letting me share my layout about one of the important “lasts” in our family! I hope you enjoy the beautiful Color Crush combo and use it to inspire a project of your own soon!
