Christin here from the cold and snowy Northern Europe. This week we will continue to show you how to incorporate the metallics from the lovely Luxe collection in your layouts. Like the Artisan collections, Luxe offers the opportunity to accent your pages in a sparkly way.
To make a page like this, you can’t be afraid to use color medium, and for the background I used Mustard acrylic paint mixed with Georgia Peach and Mustard Color Shine and a great deal of water so that the paint would drip down the page. What often happens when you use a lot of water? Very bulky pages, so here is a little tip to even out the pages a little. Take out your iron and start ironing your page. I used a cloth between my iron and my page and removed the steam, but feel free to try out different methods. I also used a little glue before I ironed. Before and after.
And after, I guess you can see the difference. So from now one, don’t be afraid to use a lot of Color Shine. To top the background, I added some copper hearts from the Luxe Confetti Rubons: Copper & Black.
I then added some paint to all the layers of paper with a paint brush on the sides to get softer edges of the papers from both Cottage Farms, Hope Chest and Portfolio (see how well the collections go together ?) In between the layers, I trimmed down a small piece of the Luxe Placemat Circles and a Cottage Farms Photoframe. When I was happy with the placement, I stapled the layers together before I added the picture. To soften the bright white in the Luxe Chipboard Hearts and Stars, I used Color Shine. It’s not only the Luxe line that is shining. The Burlap Butterflies from the Hope Chest collection gives the pages even more glitter.
Have a lovely week.
