Craft-N-Connect: Christin Gronnslett

BlogQuestionsTop

Welcome to our month long Craft N Connect event. We are going to spend the entire month getting to know our creative team just a little bit better! We will ask them some silly (and some serious) questions while we show off their latest Pink Paislee project! We want you to personally join in our CRAFT challenge while connecting with our team all month long!  Be sure to visit this blog post to learn how you can get crafty to win a $100 Prize Pack!

“Have you spotted Christin’s projects yet? If you haven’t gotten to know her you are truly missing out! Christin was actually scheduled to be one of our guest artists in 2012 but the schedule kept getting pushed back and then throughout the entire 2012 calendar year she continued to share her projects on our Facebook Wall and was pretty determined to show us just how much she loved our products. We finally decided that it would be better if she just joined our team full time for 2013. It isn’t uncommon for us to invite a previous guest designer to join our team full time especially when we see all the amazing things they can do with our products.  Without a doubt those who share (and tag us) on Facebook and Instagram tend to get our attention. I love how Christin always uses a little bit of art mediums on every project.  A little mist here, some paint there..she really “gets us” and she understands how to put our customizable products to work for her.  Color mediums can be a powerful creative tool especially when you add them in all the right places.  We also adore Christin’s ability to cluster elements and layer pieces over one another to create an amazing focal point for her photos.  Thank you Christin for being a fan of Pink and for always creating projects that inspire us to use color in new ways.  You know I am a super fan! – Rebecca”

Christin here saying hello from snowy Norway, where our lawn is still white from all the snow, but every day the sun shines and spring is on its way.   I am very happy to be part of the Pink Paislee team for 2013 and I am as excited as you reading all the little things about the team.

I discovered scrapbooking in 2002 after I lived in the Bay Area for a couple of months and I wanted to document our traveling.  Products were very hard to come by and I had to order from the US and since there were so few scrappers around I mostly scrapped gift and just a few of those themed layouts I had shopped materials for. But in 2008 it changes, I was introduced to crops and swedish forums and I started scrapping more and more and when I was home for a year with the youngest I started sneaking into my scraproom every day.

My first choice of scrapbook style was very clean and simple and no flowers even though I would buy hundreds of them. My style is still quite simple, but I now enjoy layers of paper combined with mists and stamps. I am very mixed media light, I can use all the products, just not very much at the sime time.

For todays projects I have used the Secret Crush collection but have also added pieces from the Luxe, Artisan, Portfolio and She Art. I love the fact that bits and pieces of all the collections can be combined.   I have here used one of the She Art templates and one homemade, the black doilies are She Art rubons ons.

I have tried to photograph the layouts so you can see the shine from the silver Luxe chevron papers.  When I first saw the Luxe lined I was a little scared of it, but now I try to sneak in some here and there in many layouts.
