Cyber Monday: Change Element Colors

CyberMonday_headerHi all! Donna here and I’m really excited to share with you my first layout for Pink Paislee!  I am kicking off Cyber Monday this month with a quick tutorial on how you can modify pre-made digital elements to match your project or your photos. To create my layout I used the Kraft Kapers paper pack and Shabby Sugar element pack, as well as the Doilies Cutting Files.

Notice how I changed the color of the foliage element from black to “kraft.” You can do that by changing the blending mode of that element. (You can read more about blending modes here.)
From the “NORMAL” mode, click the drop down menu as seen in the image

and change to “Screen” blending mode. Keep the Opacity and Fill properties as is (100%).

Make the element “pop” by adding a drop shadow to it.
When you right-click the element from the layer menu, a list of options will open. Choose “Blending Options”

Under “Blending Options”, activate “Drop Shadow” by checking the box. Change the settings to your liking.

I also softened the color of the “XOXO” element from the Love Notes Stamps by changing the Opacity to 50%.

That’s it for now! Thank you for dropping by!

Howdy! This post couldn’t be written any better! Reading this post reminds me of my old room mate! He always kept chatting about this. I will forward this post to him. Fairly certain he will have a good read. Thank you for sharing!
