Stamping Tips: Creating Backgrounds

Hi there. Nina here today with another post in the Pink Paislee “Stamping Tips” week. Stamps are one of my favorite scrapbooking product ever because you can use them in so many different ways again and again. For today’s project, I used the brand new “Sentiment Series” hexagon and circle stamps to create a card background.

At first, I started with the hexagon stamps and stamped the images on a piece of white cardstock (that´s also a great way to use older scraps of paper) to find my favorite color combination for the cards. Here I used Prima Chalk Ink in coral, mint, grey and light brown. After stamping in different ways, I cut the cardstock and add them onto a 4″x12″ piece of Color Wash patterned paper.

Tip:  You can also create your own “ombre” or “color wash” effect if you stamp with ink from one color family.

For the second background, I used the scalloped circle Sentiment stamps. These ones are working also really well to create backgrounds like this. With the use of an acrylic block you can get a great result…
