Designer Details: Drops Of Color

Sometimes the smallest details can make all the difference! I’m a huge fan of a white space and clean & simple layouts. But I do know that sometimes too much white space can make a layout look..empty. So today I want to show you my method for making page layouts more interesting. It’s a small detail but when we are done you will see how important it is!

I use Heidi Swapp Color Shine mists in each and every layout I make. I love the bright colors and the shiny glam effect! Here are my favorite “go to” colors: mustard, mint and peach.

I like to use them by twisting off the spray cap of the bottle to make drops of color with the tube that is inside.

Keep adding drips until you love the effect and patterns.

Here is what my background page looks like with drops of Color Shine added to the background. Can you see the difference? Do you like it? Because that is my ‘designer details’ secret for cheering up the white space and still having it be mostly white.

Subtle yet colorful effects

It also adds interest to an otherwise blank space.

Remember…white space is a good thing but don’t be afraid to add that “designer detail” with color using Color Shine sprays to create interest, movement and color as needed!

Collections Used: Color Wash, Color Shine Sprays
