Title Tricks: Go Bold!

Good day and welcome to Title Tricks!  Today I am going to show you how to make a bold statement with your title.  I am also showing you how to pull off a ‘dominant title’ without losing focus on your photos! Let’s take a look at how I did this using the brand new Pen Pals collection!

To add visual interest to the title, I used one cursive (or intricate) font with one simple font as highlighted below.  I used my Cameo die cut machine to cut the words out of patterned paper. Using the Lucida Handwriting font and the blue map paper, I cut out “Missing”.   Next I cut out “This College Girl” using the Impact font and the bold pink and red patterned paper. This bright pop of color pulls your eye immediately to that spot, which happens to be directly above my photo block.  I thought that this bold color and bold pattern packed enough punch in my title area so I did not need to embellish it further.

I used the navy blue chipboard banner alphas also from the Pen Pals collection for a subtitle under my photo block. This anchors the photo block and helps draw the viewer’s attention from the main title, down over the photos, and down to the bottom of the page.  These alphabets are fabulous and honestly my new favorite alphabet.  I can’t wait to use them again!

This is a gorgeous page! Love the mixed title and subtitle, the grid design, and the cluster of accents. Thanks for sharing this lovely layout!
