Snapseed is one of my go to camera apps. It has been in my photo editing arsenal for awhile now. And while I do not believe any photo editing app is a one-stop-does-it all sort of application, this one certainly fills in a lot of the blanks for me.
First of all, It’s free. And ya gotta like free. Snapseed offers many basic edit options as well as filters. There are several adjustment options like Automatic, Selective Adjust, Tune Image, Straighten, and Details. And within each of those options are multiple settings that can be adjusted.
Secondly, I have found it very easy to navigate. For me this is always a plus. As said before, each editing option has its own adjustment options. Simply touch the screen and move up or down to select AMBIANCE, for example. Then you only need slide finger left to right to adjust that particular option.
Next, there are different filters that include Black & White, Vintage, Drama, HDR Scape, Grunge. Depending on how artsy or styled you want, each of these options have multiple filters and levels of color to choose from.
Lastly what I like are three other editing options. These include Center Focus, Tilt Shift, and Retrolux. I have played mostly with Center Focus, and it allows lots of control to get that perfectly soft focus effect to a portrait type photo as well as a project photo. It’s my most favorite edit tool Snapseed offers.
So a real quick edit that I used on my layout today goes like this:
I click OPEN and navigate to my photo library and chose my pic.
This photo is unedited and ready to go.
Here I have opened the TUNE IMAGE option and will adjust brightness. I want this photo real soft and light and go pretty high on the brightness level.
Before leaving this edit option, I slide my finger down and choose the AMBIANCE option. I slide to the left to add extra softness to our edges. This is another favorite of this app for me. I also play with the SATURATION just a little. Before saving the photo I will use the crop option and probably save it square as that is a go to size for me right now.
When I am happy with the results, I click APPLY, and then the SAVE option and save it back to my camera roll. Snapseed will save this photo to it’s own gallery which is an added bonus. Once you know which options you really love, it truly is a snap to edit photos in no time, and get to the fun of scrapping them…just like here…
I took my photos edited on my device, emailed them to myself. All I had to do was print them out, and have some serious fun. I played these photos up with a mix of Hello Sunshine and Pen Pals.
Using an app to edit photos is so quick. Easy. And provides fabulous results. Snapseed is one of many apps that can help you enhance your fabulous snapshots. Try it out the next time you want to edit your camera phone pics!
