Kids Kreations: Coupon Books

This time of year is busy around our house. There’s Father’s Day as well as a variety of birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. Our kids are old enough to appreciate the joy of celebrating and gift giving, so I try to get them involved whenever I can.

Today I want to show you a fun coupon book that we created together. Coupon books are a classic gift that keeps on giving!  Together, we chose to use the Pen Pals collection because of the all the blues that are perfect for “dads.” Here’s what we created together:

We used our electronic cutter to cut out ten tags, so the kids would each have four tags to decorate.

I made it a little easier by adding a piece of the white and blue ledger style patterned paper to each tag to allow the kids to write their own gifts on the tags.

Our daughter cut out and adding the little bannered flags on each tag. Each was attached using a mini stapler. We also added a stamped image and a die cut heart to each of the tags.

To avoid frustration, I wrote out the gifts our son wanted to give. Our little guy loves stamping, so we picked out some stamps and ink and he went to town on each of his tags. Tip -write the gift in permanent ink to avoid smudging with a water soluble stamp ink.

It was challenging to contain the stamping, but it was still a lot of fun (and we both currently have very colorful hands).

I hope this inspires you to get the kids involved! Thanks for visiting!
