Down here in the southern hemisphere we are enjoying the cooler weather of winter (it’s Gail here from Australia) but I was more than happy to create something summery as we’ll have our loooong, hot summer later in the year! And this year, armed with my summer bucket list mini, I’ll be more than ready!
Inspired by the idea of a fold-out map, I created my mini album accordian style, using folded white cardstock as my base to build on. Once the ribbon is untied and the cover opened, the booklet simply folds out.
The inside of the cover is where I adhered my summer bucket list. I’ve seen a few of these floating around on Pinterest and I created my own to fit inside my album. I’m hoping the prompts go, make, do and eat will get me thinking of some fun summer activities!
Here’s a closer look at my inside pages where I will add some photos as we complete items on our summer bucket list:
I find cards on Pinterest and blogs to be a great source of inspiration for mini albums. Usually I’ll do a rough sketch out of my pages before i start and keep adding embellishments and words until I’m happy.
My other tip when creating mini albums is to use smaller patterns or even better, 6×6″ paper pads for your pages! The smaller pattern in the smaller space works perfectly!
Even if you haven’t made up your summer bucket list yet, it shouldn’t stop you from creating a mini album to store your memories in! Thanks for joining me today!
