I absolutely LOVE Halloween and look for any reason to make Halloween themed paper projects! So with Halloween just around the corner, I looked through the latest and greatest Pink Paislee collections and came out with a nice fall/Halloween color palette. I pulled the orange, green, brown, and cream from Switchboard. And the Hello Sunshine left me with a great neutral white and black (and yellow for the candy corn!) You don’t need Halloween themed paper to make fabulous Halloween party decor!
I used a circle from the Pink Paislee prize ribbons cut file that I had. I sized and cut the yellow circles at 2 inches, the orange circles at 1 1/2 inches, and the white circles at 1 inch. I grabbed the yellow and white from the Hello Sunshine collection. The fabulous and fun orange paper comes from the Switchboard collection!
I simply adhered the different colored circles in the order of yellow (bottom), orange, and white (top). I then used a pencil and ruler to draw light lines on my circles to make sure I would end up with 10 wedges about equal size.
I then cut along the traced lines to make my candy corn wedges! A couple of my candy corns ended up being way too wide, so I simply trimmed a little piece off the sides. I think children would love to help make this fun and easy candy corn confetti!
I used a regular circle punch and a slightly larger scalloped circle punch for the base of my cupcake toppers. I then trimmed the numbers from patterned paper and die cut the cupcake wrapper using a Quickutz die.
Thanks for joining us today! I hope I have inspired you to use non-Halloween collections for your next paper party project!
