Hi! It’s Kim Jeffess here and I am excited to be joining you for Pink Paislee’s Countdown 2 Christmas Event …….I have two little boys aged 6 and 8 who are completely obsessed with Lego so for the cover to my album I wanted to create a unique keepsake for them since Christmas for me is all about their joy! I asked my husband to design a reindeer head from some of their Lego which I hot glued together ( shhhhh don’t tell them) then hot glued the reindeer to the front of my album. I love it and they adore it which makes me happy.
So in Australia it is our Summer right now so I had to find a way to incorporate today’s prompt- snow angels! Yes I could have made a sand angel but we just haven’t been near the beach yet so I had to come up with plan b…..and since my boys as you know are completely obsessed with Lego well the choice seemed obvious right! A bonus for me was that my boys also cherish our Elf on the Shelf James so I put 2 and 2 together and came up with the following pages.
My week 15 began with two pocket pages and one large 8×8 photo, our Elf has been busy finding new places each night to surprise my boys. I wanted to capture some of these in my album
My first spread shows the first pocket page and the Large photo of our Elf James visiting for the first time this year. When these pages are placed in my album the large photo will sit between the two pocket pages.
My second spread shows the two pocket pages next to each other and you might spy my Lego Angel on the second page.
A close up of page one shows some of the Merry & Bright ephemera pieces as an accent in one of the bottom pockets.
A Merry & Bright Silver Foil Word Strip sits on the bottom of the 15 card. I have added a chipboard angel from my stash that has been inked in silver to the card. My second pocket page shares more fun places for James our Elf.
I wanted a peek a boo piece for my journaling so I trimmed a piece of Merry and Bright Stocking pattern paper to 6×6 then used my circle cutter to cut a hole at the bottom right. I added one of the glitter snowflakes from the ephemera pack to embellish. I attached this piece with washi tape to the back of another 6×6 piece of pattern paper and slipped the back piece into the pocket.
The flap lifts up to reveal my journaling adhered to the Ornament pattern paper and I punched a bow from the Snow pattern paper to complete.
For my title pocket I added the Metallic Foam numbers to the pattern paper that I trimmed to size. I then stamped and embossed the word Summer using one of the Heidi Swapp digi words then added one of the Foil Word Strips.
For my last pocket I added one of the trees from the ephemera pack and trimmed a stem from some scrap pattern paper. I slid the photo into my pocket then adhered the Fabric Bow to the outside of the pocket.
Do you have an Elf on the Shelf? I wonder what he gets up to at your place.
