Wow! Hello to everyone who has been on this wonderful and very meaningful journey of documenting your December and counting down to Christmas! I cannot believe we have reached one of my favourite days of the year…December 24th! The BIG day before the BIG day! The culmination of all the prepping, shopping, planning etc. etc. has arrived. It is really always mind boggling to me just how fast it does come.
As you can see my Pink Paislee Merry & Bright album is FULL and like I call it “deliciously thick” of memories and moments that have filled my month of December as I have played along with all of Pink Paislee’s wonderful December prompts.
They truly helped me achieve a wonderful holiday season this year and I had so much fun sharing in these “first moments” with my son. I feel so thankful to have taken the time that I did to do this project this year.
So today’s wonderful prompt (and one of my personal favourites): photograph those Christmas PJ’s! Seriously aren’t Christmas PJ’s the BEST? Truly one of my favourite traditions!
Here is a look at my 2 page spread documenting those Christmas PJ’s.
I used some of my absolute favourites from the Pink Paislee Merry and Bright collection on these pages because since it will be one of the last pages in my book, I really wanted an awesome reminder. Again, in order for me to follow through and finish this project I had to keep things super simple and achievable for me. In doing that I kept a focus on the photos and prepped my whole album before December. By prepping I mean organizing and compiling all of the fabulous 4 x 4 numbered cards, all the while adding in some of the gorgeous Merry and Bright ephemera with a touch of stitching.
For my 2nd page of my 2 page spread, I decided to use one large photo mounted on top of the red and white stripe Merry and Bright paper. It is on this photo that I directly added my journaling digitally in photoshop in white typewriter text. I love the subtle vintage feel that it adds.
Once my photo was trimmed and adhered into my album I added and layered some more ephemera directly onto my photo. I cannot get enough of the fabulous stickers (hello black glitter! YUM!) and the gorgeous mirrored silver label stickers. The “santa’s little helper” sticker label was more than perfect for this photo. I love it and was the perfect finishing detail.
One last detail that I added to my spread that helped me achieve getting in that “one extra photo” that I could not bear to leave out was that I created a little flap openable to tuck into the top of the 4×4 photo sleeve. I trimmed a piece of card stock 8 inches tall by 4 inches wide. Folded it in half and then added my photo onto the bottom half. I slipped that into the sleeve and let the top fold fold over. It is on that fold where I added my 2nd photo. This is such a fun and easy way to not only get in more photos but to add a little interactivity to your page and layout.
I hope you all loved playing along with myself and the rest of the girls who shared some fabulous inspiration over the course of the last 24 days! It has been such a wonderful creative ride and I am so thankful to have not only been able to share my album with you all, but to be included by Pink Paislee to do just that! Thank you for creating such an amazing Christmas collection that will always be remembered and adored as I look back on what is now my first ever COMPLETED December album! Merry Christmas to you all. XOXO
