Hey everyone, Raquel Bowman here to share with you a little St Patrick’s Day gift idea for a loved one. A few years ago we visited and toured around Ireland twice. While there we visited my hubby’s family and got to know a little bit about his grandfathers brothers, sisters and cousins and their upbringing. It was a lovely time and I also found out then where Hubby’s red hair comes from! Since this time St Patrick’s Day has always had an informal significance to us as a day to reminisce on those lovely memories.
I decided to create a card and a little gift bag containing some lotto tickets and some yummy gold coins. The significance for this gift to my husband being in the form of the ‘luck of the Irish’ and feeling lucky to have him in my life. This gift and card could easily be replicated at home where I have mainly used the lovely Citrus Bliss collection.
Here is the card base. I used a plain white 4×6″ sized card. I added a small strip of the Citrus patterned paper (from the 6×6 Paper Pad) and teamed it with a pop of gold from the American Crafts paper glitter tape. I cut the shamrock from my cameo on the Fancy patterned paper in the 6×6 Paper Pad. I adhered it to my card along with a doily, using foam tape to add a little dimension. The Lucky text was from a Silhouette phrases cut file set and was a perfect staring point for my cards title. I cut this from the Hello Patterned paper from the 6×6 Paper pad, and decided to offset the design using vellum to help it pop that little bit more. Those sweet little gold hearts are from the chipboard stickers pack and they were the perfect finishing touch.
The gold alphabet stickers are from American Crafts and were the perfect size to finish the phrase.
Here is the mini gift bag created using an American Crafts paper bag and embellished using the Citrus Bliss scraps of paper and ephemera from the ephemera pack.
The gold acetate tag in the ephemera pack was just perfect and I created my own tag from card stock to layer on top, the reinforcement hole is even cut from the scraps of paper too. I love to layer ephemera and papers and the die cuts are perfect for doing this. I used an older Pink Paislee alpha from the Luxe collection to continue that golden theme.
Here is a closer look at the tags.
And here is the gift altogether.
I hope you have enjoyed my first post and wishing everyone a lovely St Patrick’s Day.
Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!
